I’ve managed to stumble accross two new words (of my own design) the past few days.

Stramble - the act of straying and ambling at the same time.

Attact - provoking a fight with much tact.

I’m considering writing a small dictionary of some of the better ones that have cropped up over the past few years in my family.  It seems my verbal dislexia is a genetic “gift”.  If this keeps up I'll be speaking a new language in a few years.

Unique.....I adore those words that creep out and have all kinds of intense meaning. One of my favorites is:
Tupperwaste.....the blue green stuff found in containers at the back of the fridge.
Not an original of mine but one I treasure.

I love these fun posts!  If I think of some later, hope it's ok to post them.  Afterall, we have to increase your vocabulary in your new language!

I'm always coming up with new words, but most of them are cuss words! :-P Yours are much more creative!

U-I, I do like your words!!

I often use silly words and sometimes I think people think I'm mad!

My favourite made up word is : "confusticated" - that's confused and frustrated together - sometimes I chage it to "frusticated"

Unique...being my brain constantly in switch mode between Italian and English coming up with new words for me is quite the norm.....lol...

Many times i hear mysellf speaking a language that is not more English and not Italian yet......my friends and my daughter got used to it....they just laugh....

I call it Englishian or Italish...it depends by the geographical location i happen to occupy in the GPS at the moment...lol.....

    I like attact a lot....lol....

botoni - I like tupperwaste!  I see we're both big fans of words that are unique.

wombat - I sure hope you do!  I'm always ready to take on a new word.

ET - throw a few cuss words my way.  Nothing rounds out a vocabulary better than a few creative cuss words.

SW - well, if you don't have a word that fits .............

polarheart - that's a goodie.  I'm having a hard time deciding which one I like better.

    sweet - you got it!

suddenrain - Bwa ha ha ha!  good one!

quietone - I'm especially proud of that one since it's my newest.

ginger - Englishian and Italish are good!  My mom speaks Gerlish (German and English) fluently.  I know the 1/2 this, 1/2 that and 1/2 something I don't recognize syndrom well.

Will think on it today...I am having trouble with words like "work" and "lazy" right now....
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 13, 2007....

  • vacantmind said on Sep 13, 2007....
We have many new words in our house, usually we just add onto the end. The phrase right now is "The most coolioawesomest thing ever." This is my new reply to what's for dinner?
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 13, 2007....
vacant - coolioawesomest is very very good!  I'll have to give it a spin.

Good for you. when I was in Germany we did this with Icelandic and German words. The family is German and has always had contact with Iceland. We make Icelandic words with German endings and kind of Germanize them.
  • kruuyai said on Sep 13, 2007....
I used to invent words in Spanish all the time.  Never did it in English, though.
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 13, 2007....

skald - I'd be very interested to hear some icelanman (icelandic and german) words.

kruuyai - so did anyone ever call you on the new words, or just laugh so hard their eyes watered?

    i have one ive created...

Jink Knucker: One devoid of common sense ontu a fault; self absorbed selfishness; absent minded selfishness.
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 13, 2007....
    hidufel - wow, that's one I don't think I'd have come up with.  That's definately a keeper.

    Use and Enjoy!
  • evil_twin said on Sep 13, 2007....
Okay, uniquely, I'll share some of my favorite custom cusswords with you :-P

fu*kafied--something that is totally messed up.

fu*kification--the act of messing something up beyond repair.

fu*k nugget--usually what I'd call the person who messed things up in the first place! (this could be myself, depending on the situation....)

ET - I see the F word is featured prominently.  We use the word Fluck in our house in a pointless attempt to keep it clean.  I may morph it into Fluck Nugget since that sounds kinda fun.

wombat - I bow at your feet.  You are the yoda of word birthing.

  • hidufel said on Sep 14, 2007....
i am a bigger fan of using words like fargging or frelling or frack, then near f words like fluck. those near words are too close to the original and so, engender possibility of using the actuall word in the wrong situation.

in a board meeting, a frack uttered in contempt or in un intended agitation, is a lot less inflamatory then a f*ck or fluck.

thank you johnny dangerously, farscape, and battlestar galactica for the new f word replacements.

WOMBIE.....Thank you for giving a word to what I am a master at.....centertaining!

hidufel - there is that risk.  I guess I like living on the edge ;)

As many of you know, I send little packages out to different people....
It is harder to share pain than it is joy. Sometime with the help of friends and family, we endure our pains. But sometimes we have to stand alone. But if you maintain a postive outlook and endure cheerfully, we will find more company along the way....
