Hmm ok, pet love coming up now... I love tea :) I am english, I love tea, these things make sense together! Now, how to make the perfect cup of tea, for those non-englanders...
You will need: kettle, water, (electricity), china teapot, teacosy, teacup and saucer, milk, teaspoon, biscuits, loose black tea & infuser OR teabag (good quality, i.e. Twinings or Lipton)
1. Boil cold water in a kettle.
2. When the water has boiled, the kettle has gone ping and the bubbling noise starts to die down, pour an inch of water into the bottom of your teapot.
3. Swirl the teapot smoothly then tip out the water. (This warms the pot.)
4. Place tea in infuser or teabag into teapot.
5. Pour the boiling water over the tea, and put the lid on the pot. Cover pot with teacosy.
6. Leave tea to infuse for a few minutes.
7. Pour tea into teacup. Observe magical golden brown colour.
8. Pour milk into teacup whilst stirring tea with teaspoon.
9. Place teacup on saucer and note the simple joy.
10. Serve tea with homely warming snacks, like toast fingers with cheddar and marmite, or crumbling biscuits.
11. Enjoy sipping hot tea from fanciness of teacup/saucer and eating snack.
12. If possible, watch BBC 'news at 10' at the same time. (Not CNN, this will not have same effect.)
Ah :) Tea is also a good post-fish&chips drink.
If you are desperate and want to throw some bubbling water into a mug with a teabag, squeeze the teabag against the side of the mug with any available utensil and collapse onto the nearest cushioned refuge, tea will still taste great. Because tea is great :)
