  i've worn glasses for distance since i was in 8th grade  (13ish).
  use the case they come with to store them in when you're not wearing them.
  that will save you from scratches.
  they sell stuff to clean them with, but i just use a little cloth they give me when i get them to clean them off these days.

  queen my dear... glasses dont make any one look nerdy... actually it makes someone looks classy... it adds character and personality!!!

  hmm... clean it with the proper cloth and cleaning solution and dont leave it where people can step on it or sit on it or lie on it... giggles...

  I wore glasses from 2nd grade through high school full time and then part time when I got contact lenses.  I think you look very smart in them.
   
  One thing that will help keep the scratches down is to always lay them down open. (with stems out)  Put the top of the lense at the bottom.  This keeps them from tipping over onto the lense which can scratch them.

  Those are good looking glasses you got there Queen... what Secret said I second.  Use your case whenever you're not wearing them and the optometrist should have a cloth they've come up with (microfiber) that's the best there is. Otherwise a simple piece of either toilet paper or tissue will work great...or any soft cloth.

  I saw this this morning before work, but just now got here to answer.  And the answer is......you look absolutlely mah-velous!  And smart--and mostly smart because I don't wear mine when I am supposed to!  But I can see the poster behind your head--who is that?  And what is on your screen?  Just being nosy!

  a small spray bottle with rubbing alcohol in it is great for cleaning your glasses.
  
  Get two copies of your prescription. Keep the second copy in a safe place. Bring it with you if you go on a trip.
   
  If you don't have the case, always sit the glasses lense side up when you take them off for the night.
   
  If you're sleeping in a chair on a plane, train or car and there's no place to put your glasses, either tuck them lense side in an empty shirt pocket or in the neck of your blouse or t-shirt. Not very good if you're wearing a turtleneck.
   
  Your ears and nose are going to be sore at first until they get used to the glasses. Rub them softly.

  Geez, I really am jealous of you girl, I don't wear glasses just yet, so sorry I can't give you any tip. Oh well, I must say you look good, at least eyeglasses can be very stylish nowadays, that's a plus factor.

  I think you look great!!!  Glasses are only "nerdy" if when broken, you put tape on them!!!  LOL 

  I have needed glasses since I was 16, and to be honest, I hate them.  I started wearing contacts right away and I only wear my glasses around the house.  So I understand how you feel, its a comfort thing.  If you aren't used to them, you feel like you have this weird thing on your face....its strange....anyways....you look great and now you can see!!!  :-)  Minnie
