  I just did it and counted 6 so am I a genious or am I just good at counting??? its funny because the brain won't recognise many simple words that we take for granted, bridging words especially..

  The thing is we tend to read very quickly then go back over, because I am dyslexic I learnt to read slowly and in blocks of words, so my eyes rest on say three words so I can read three words then move on to the rest of the sentence... it means I don't get as muddled in my head... You then notice the heights and widths of letters more, F's are tall and spiked, that are similar to T's but they stand out for me.. very interesting post got me thinking

  I don't know why many participants on get six on their first time... I know that it's quite confusing in your first try, am I right starchini??? Maybe most of those who commented view it first many times before they gave their answer..

  When she asked the question of how many F's there were, I knew it was some kind of a trick question so I took my time and made sure i counted them all. If you were expecting it to be a trick question, you probably would be more careful. But if I hadn't known there was something unusual about the F's in the sentence I probably would've came up with the same answer as some others did at first glance.

  I got 6 at the first reading...but its not a matter of being genius or stupid.

  Its a matter of following  strictly the path that the question leads you to..

  Our brain allows room to be influenced, specially in a subliminal way.

  The question required to count how many F were in the sentence.....and so i did....:-)

  Unknownblogger, your test would have been more interesting if comments were not allowed, and we all had to submit our answers via Private Message. That way, no one could peek at the comments above them and cheat.

  Oops!  I gave the answer, I'm so sorry. If you read it out loud you hear the fs. That makes it easier.

  passion: giving the answer without the explanation would still make it difficult for others to count all the F on that sentence... but unfortunately... other post the very word where the Fs can be found...

  well i was fooled, I got three, I noticed a comment on the other post that put in bold the 6 f's and I was like...uhhh??  why didnt i see those :-)
