Here's a story that made ME cringe, and I've lived here all my life.  I never really appreciated just how "out there" the people in california were until I did a short stint on the other coast.

I don't care what this guy looks like.  If I hire him to build me cabinets, he's gonna stay in clothes.  I'll even pay to have them washed if the "keeps my clothes clean" excuse come up.

Sort of like cooking in the nude--I would be careful of nail guns and such, if I were him!  Funny!

I've worked in or around carpentry all my life and this makes me wonder where he carries tools and other items he needs to do the job.

Other than that, I think he's a flake in need of a mental adjustment.

I can't imagine wanting to work with wood, nails and other dangerous things, with no pants on! The potential for something getting a splinter or worse, is just too high!

It's nice to see that it's not just LA that's crazy, though. It's the entire state! Uniquely, what does this say for us? Are we crazy too and they're just not telling us? :-P

SL and MM&I - No arguement from me.

wombat - nail guns, drills, etc.

Mamie - at least he has shoes on

SW - apparently weird exists on both coasts.  Maybe it's the proximity to water.

BTV - I wondered the same thing.

ET - Every time I read a story about this kind of thing I have to stop and wonder if maybe it does somehow have any relevance to me as a californian.  I do think we tend to be more tolerant and accepting of the bizarre.

Its not just CA......its everywhere!! we have a town here in VT that still allowed nudes, so a bunch got together and started riding their bikes etc around town.....well now they are in the process of changing that forgotten "law".....
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 11, 2007....
quietone - the mental picture of nude biking makes me shudder.

skald - oh my indeed.  Do people in Iceland behave so bizarrely?
  • GrapeKoolaid said on Sep 11, 2007....
I'll bet he's extremely careful around belt sanders and bandsaws, though.  :)
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 11, 2007....
grape - I would hope so, or perhaps he's NOT been so careful in the past and now there's no need to worry about such things! ;)
  • Melkor said on Sep 11, 2007....
I can assure you that people in the midwest are just as weird as people on the coasts.
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 11, 2007....
Melkor - I just keep wondering how the ones in the bay area keep getting so much media?!
  • Suddenrain said on Sep 11, 2007....
If a man started working on my cabinets in the nude, I'd tell him he'd better build a pair of pants real fast, or I will! And I'd grab the nail gun!  :-O
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 11, 2007....
suddenrain - LOL not only would I pay to see that, I'd bring popcorn and soda for the show.
  • Suddenrain said on Sep 11, 2007....
If I want to see some tired old 51 year old man in the nude, I'd look at my husband. Now, if he was 28 or soooo I might help him build. I could hand him the nails or something of equal good use.  ;-D
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 12, 2007....
Suddenrain - I like the way you think.  I'd definately want a more "hands on" role if the guy was young and pretty ;)
  • Suddenrain said on Sep 12, 2007....
And nakey....don't forget nakey. LoL hell he could hand me the wood and I'd take it from there (pun intended). :-D
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 12, 2007....

Suddenrain - LOL  I think I need to take lessons from you.  I love your twisted wicked mind. ;)

  • Suddenrain said on Sep 13, 2007....
:-P  I keep it locked up most the time but a naked carpenter....that's just to tempting.  :-)
