Do you want to hurl when you smell certain foods cooking?

I sure do. Here are a few of them that make me green in the gills.

Any kind of mixed vegetables or vegetable soup
Hamburger
Turkey
Eggs
Bacon
Oatmeal

If the smell of those things cooking permeate my house, I sometimes need to lay down on the couch.  I really do want to hurl.  I can eat them after they are cooked, but something about their smells during the cooking process does me in.

How about you?  Is there a food that makes you want to hurl while it's cooking?

Care to share?

The kitchen smell that bugs me the most isn't a food--it's dish soap.  When I pregnant with my oldest daughter and sensitive to smells, the smell of a certain dish soap made me throw up.  The memory makes me gag a little.

I don't care for the smell of eggs, either.  I ate a lot of egg whites and the occasional poached egg when I was getting back into shape after my youngest was born and the smell and taste gross me out.

Sometimes the smell of cauliflower cooking can turn me off, but I love eating it :-)

I hate the smell of cabbage cooking, even though I really like beef and cabbage soup.

I cannot take the smell of sauerkraut in any way! I cannot imagine eating a ham either...and also when I see people eating  keilbasa sp? and sauerkraut I literally have to hurl. Thanks for reminding me of that!
    NOT!! :)))

Glad I'm not the only one!

Eggs, bacon (esp. early in the morning - bad memory from childhood plus SO not a morning person), hamburger, chicken.

Same as you, I have absolutely no problem eating these things.  But I can't stand to smell them cooking or the smell they leave on my fingers/utensils and plates.  Weird!

Oh God! I must be a very weird person! All those cooking smells just make me drool. I love when my house smells of turkey cooking. The after smells of things like cabbage or onions drives me crazy but the 'while its cooking' smell is pure heaven to me.

I remember walking into some persons house once as they were cooking. OMG! I thought I was going to hurl right there! Had to walk back out. Does anyone know what Chitlans are? Don't know if I spelled it right but I definately don't smell it right! That was the worst thing I have ever smelled in my life besides a wrotten egg. Not even sure what it is but it literally gagged me on the spot.

CW- What really bothers me is waking up in the morning and smelling food, especially eggs. Breakfast is just not my thing.

No smells as such. But even the thought of ravioli makes me feel queesy. Eating it did make me sick last time I tried to eat it, which was at school. Which is odd since I like all the ingredient separately or even done with different pasta. I think it must have been whatever the school did with their raviloi that I didn't get on with and that's now permanently imprinted on my brain.
I'm also incredibly susceptable to onions being chopped. I can be several rooms away and still get irritated eyes. Or go into a room where onions were chopped hours ago and be affected.

You know, I'm not really fond of the smell of turkey while it's cooking either. But once it's done, I love it!

For some reason, when I looked at the title of this post, I thought it said, "yucky kitten smells"! I thought this was going to be about litter boxes. I need to get my eyes checked!

Anyway, kitchen smells? I hate the smell of broccoli, brussel sprouts, cauliflower and cabbage. They all smell like crap when they cook. And I'm okay with eggs if they're fried or scrambled, but if you boil them, and stick them in the fridge? Nasty!

I also have this thing where I love the smell food cooking when I'm starving. But after I've eaten and I'm full, the smell I loved an hour earlier, makes me sick. I hate any lingering cooking smell that you can't get rid of!

When I was living above my sister in my apartment, she would cook ribs.  She would boil them first and it was SOOOOO nasty!

I actually have hurled from the smell.  I walked by her apartment on my way down the stairs and ran straight for the door and hurled like no tomorrow off the back deck.

Tuna, Salmon, Shrimp...any kind of fish or seafood raw or cooking makes me sick!!!  I hate it when Mr. and little D have tuna for lunch...I want to lay there and die!

Seafood, especially shell fish.  It's a pity since I'm so close to the water and so many restaurants specialize in it.  I have a hard time even walking along Pier 39 in San Francisco because of the crab shack type restaurants.

Well, gee, Creative, thanks for sharing the concept of tossing your cookies. It's so....real.

Any way, there was a time when I BBQ'd chicken by first cooking it in the microwave until about 1/2 done, then putting in on the grill. It came out very juicy since it didn't have a long to dry out over the coals, but half-cooked chicken is disgusting.

Otherwise, I'm pretty much with Butoni: it all smells good to me.
