I think one reason why men cheat is because we're naturally polygamous. I don't see that as a negative thing (it's neutral) because it helps differentiate real men from mere boys. The moment you've won over this natural impulse to cheat or to be disloyal (or just be polygamous), that's the time when you'd be able to say that you're a real man.

As for women, I know they cheat too... I'm not sure what's the usual reason why some of them cheat. But for both sexes, I think another reason would be because our generation is beginning to develop the bad habit of getting everything that we want without regard to other people's feelings. I hope we could overcome this trend one day....

cheating is a disease... it should be avoided... nothing good comes out of it.

sweetie, as you well know, cheating is one of human weakness and it is very difficult to avoid... especially to us men, who always grab to the opportunity when they come...

blooger, your wrong... we can avoid cheating if we want to...

i dont think you can justify something painful and unfair like cheating... a real man for is one who knows what he may lose if he cheats and respects the woman he is with...

i respect your opinion but i greatly disagree, i have met alot of cheaters and i have met men who are faithful... the cheaters usually try to justify their weakness.

i strongly agree with jedimaster... you can avoid it if you want to.

My bride says most men think with their
dicks, that's why they cheat... they don't
think about what their going to lose just
the thrill and feeling of doing something
    bad and dangerious...
I feel if "both" are having their needs met
in a marriage, there will be no cheating..
I know a man who goes out and gets blow
jobs because his wife says it's discusting..
He's getting his needs met through cheating...
    I don't say it's right, it's just a reason it happens...

Women definitely cheat. The first girl I ever went out with slept with 5 men whilst we went out... I wasn't one of them. Ah well. Strangely you'd have thought it would have bothered me but it didn't.

Cheating in marriage is equivalent to cheating in a business situation. Marriage is a binding contract between partners. If both parties want to be able to have extra-marital relations, then they can specify that in the pre-nuptial agreement. If they do it without their partner's agreement it is ilegal and immoral. If it just happens by accident, then they don't have a very strong relationship with their spouse.

    Why make generalizations?
  • botoni said on Sep 06, 2007....
To me honesty in a relationship is the issue. If a couple chooses consensual nonmonogamy it is one thing. If one partner is messing around and lying about it there is a completely different dynamic.

Honestly, I respect all of your opinion... we can be faithful if we want to...
But may I ask if there is anyone in you who is faithfull enough and say that he/she still didn't cheat??? Actually, I don't want to generalized... What i'm saying is, we as a human being will bite the apple if it is offered to us...
