Thankyou to everyone who posted. And thanks to NurseCutie for answering my question. I work for a city hospital. And Kruu I was agency not on staff so they put a restriction and reduced all agency staffing. They claim theres no money in the budget. And they also claim they hired way to many nursing personnel for a new building in our sister hospital and that they should be rotating existing staff before hiring new or using agency.
So shortage or no shortage or no shortage they are attempting to stop the hemriaging financially.
I am sorry I wasn't able to help you more :( But if you work for an agency, and the hospital wants to keep you around, they might be able to do it. They pay more for agency staff because they have to pay the agency too. They'd be saving money by hiring you on permanently.........
anything is possible I guess. If you are valuable to them, they could prob. find you a spot........I would imagine that the cut in pay might not be fixed as quickly as they promised though.........that would be my biggest concern if you get the job.
I think they are going to try and work you in as a department transfer rather than a new hire to get around the freeze........maybe?
Good luck :)
{hugs}
