Ok, I know I'm having a really whingy week, but my period pains have now left to be replaced with the start of a nice autumnal flu. I am feeling crap :( My eyes are hot and burny and I can't focus on my work, I feel a bit sick (bleaugh) and hot and my nose is running constantly... which is attractive... Does anybody know a trick to get rid of a bad cold fast?

Oooh but my colleague just saw me writing this and gave me a massage :) Aaah.

There aren't enough genuine sick days around. Maybe there could be a little monitor above the office door that scans your body / frame of mind and says 'No, turn around, you feel too crap to work.' It could even give advice; 'You need two paracetamol and a glass of orange juice. You need to lie down and sleep it off. You need two vodka and tonics.' Lol.

At least it is Friday... although the idea of having to put high heels on and look 'social' to go to a friend's party tonight is almost horrifying enough to make me wish it wasn't. Almost. Bleaugh.

sorry you aren't feeling well, ladyscarlet. i've always found that megadoses of vitamin c seem to help but not as fast as you'd like, i'm afraid.

Lady......sorry you dont have a boss like mine.....she was so obsessed with germs and stuff like this that one day i went to work with a cough and a running nose because i knew i couldn't take any day off and she called me and told me 'Do not enter in my office. Actually, i want you to leave rigth now. And sanitize your phone and the keyboard before you go. You shouldnt even be here''.

I was already feeling like crap on top of it she made me feel guilty for having being forced to go to work and she didnt even recognize my effort......that lady knew how to deal with her employees, let me tell you.....but at least..i recovered at home.

That collegue of yours has been nice....:-)

Remedy? I dont know.....i usually let the cold have its course.....i would take Vitamic C. Echinacea, eat lots of fruits rich in vitamin (cantaloupe, strawberries) and drink lots of water and warm tea...

Get well.....and naturally lots of lemon in your gin tonic would do great....LOL..

silverwhisper, ginger, Thanks guys! Well, it's 2am and after a fight with my boyfriend (non-verbal, pure deadly looks) I find myself reaching for soulcast comments like a comfort blanket ;) Am still feeling crappy but not so much. Will go to bed with Shakespeare now (we never argue) and hopefully wake up a bit refreshed :) Am sending far-away thoughts of happiness for your days. Hope they reach you and make a difference! Why would your boss want you to get the rest of the office sick too? You need (at least) two bottles of ginger ale, two large boxes of soft tissues with lotion, a box of saltine crackers and a box of gingersnaps, the remote control and a pile of movies. Move from bed only when you need to.

When you feel you can, have some chicken soup. Chicken with noodles or Chicken with rice. Nibble on crackers and cookies. Ginger's good for sick tummies.

Take tylenol or asprin for fever and pain and get plenty of rest.
