In the big wide world of the Internet, there are sites, especially if you blog or participate in discussion forums, where it feels like home.
Literotica was my first home, and still one of my very favorites. My other home is SoulCast. If I've had a bad day, or need to be comforted, this is where I come. It's familiar and comfortable, like a friendly coffee shop where you know exactly which red vinyl booth has a rip in the seat, and which table wobbles unless you stick a piece of cardboard underneath one of the legs, and your friends show up everyday and say hello.
I recently made a foray into a different kind of world for me. Let's just say, it was not a comfortable fit. Never have I felt so on display, with stern faced men tapping my mouth with their riding crops, and saying, "Open your mouth, girl, and let me count your teeth." Of course I'm speaking metaphorically, but the feeling was still there.
I wanted to see what it was like and I did. No thank you. I'm staying here where people care about your heart and mind. There are good people here. I'm sure there are good people there. But this is my home.
