Mud, Rain, Love
The sky was grey and cloudy as we entered the parking lot at Alpine valley. My shoes were covered in mud only seconds after stepping out of the car. The air was thick in anticipation, and smiles filled the faces of everyone who walked by. I immediately asked our neighbors for a beer and conversation came easily with their generosity. as i began my inebriation we ducked in the car to smoke a few bowls. The rain began to fall at first we thought we should stay in the car and wait it out, but moments later we thought the hell with it and began to walk around as if unaware that it pouring and we were soaking wet within seconds. I would stop occasionally to ask the random passer by "why is everything all wet?" we entered the venue and the rain slowed to a sprinkle the clouds broke slightly and rainbow formed over the stage as queens of the stone age began the show. Mud slides formed on the hill being an amazing ride for sum and a terrifying obstacle to others.

As rage took the stage the crowd howled in gratitude, and then I felt an energy that was completely unique. A feeling of rage, anger, unrest, but also of glory, strength, and power, but ultimately it was the desire for peace. Truly this band has an energy all their own and they know how to use it. Zach ranted about fox news and their close minded interpretation of the statement the the bush admin. should be tried for war crimes. He went on to explain that the news, the government does not fear the words rage speaks but the fear us the crowd the people and what we will do with those words. He said that the republicans fear we will vote them out of office and the democrats fear that if they dont do as we say we will burn down the capitol.

This was an incredible show that left me motivated to fight the powers of oppression i hope to make it to a few protest soon and im lookin at the imf when i say that. Tuesday at 7 on the quad anti-war/pro-peace protest be there bring candles and FIRE/light.
