My bride is turning 60 this year and I want to do
something very special  for or to her.
It has to be better than a dinner & a movie or a
carriage ride; done all that.
I want to do something she'd never dream of
and something totally out of character for me...
Give me your suggestions.... even if their way
off the wall... open to everything...

Why not renew your vows and have a second honeymoon at somewhere she has always wanted to go?  When my parents did this they even bought new wedding rings so it was like the first time all over again. I couldn't think of anything more romantic.

We did that at 10 years and went on a cruise
with her sister & brother in law and our kids..
Had a wonderful time but it's now time to top that..
At 11 we got couples massages witheveryone
nude, at 12 I took her to St Augistine and stayed
    in a B & B..  We both took #13 off.. too dangerious.
We were both divorced in our 13th year...
Now  we come to this year #14....
She doesn't like hights so a hot air balloon is out...

How about going to a very special hotel and getting the honeymoon suite.  Have the bath filled and add rose petals, candles, champagne, try to get one with a fireplace and if you can live string music to dance by.

Have a limo pick her up from work (or home) and have her bag packed and add some very frilly inimate things to them.

Head for Vegas !  Catch a few shows, dine out, hit the strip and just smile....alot. Great places to stay, great chow, plenty of what you might want, and want to leave there ...nothing like the lights of a fun city like Vegas.

i love the idea of a surprise....limo picking her up, bags packed with maybe a few sexy items inside for her to 'open'.....then off to a weekend somewhere special.  vegas is fun- not sure where you're located...i'd do the bahamas since that's only a couple hours away from me....

steve, it's hard to suggest things without knowing what you already have/haven't done.

honestly, the only thing i can think of that's remotely atypical is skydiving.

OMG, I liked you ever since I've read your first comment, but now, knowing how romantic and committed you are, I like you even more!!!!!

I feel proud just to know you, even online - seriously. Your mate is a really lucky girl.

I am not really that creative so I can only tell you one of my biggest dreams I one day would like to make come true.
Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to swim with dolphines. After reading you, I'm sure you've probably done that, or don't think that it is anything special. But to me, it is just something I always wanted to do. As a matter of fact, I am going to write a blog about it.
Good luck, my friend, enjoy your special time with your special lady!

I like the Vegas idea. It's beautiful. Especially at night. Try to go when they have good headliners. Ceasars is my favorite place to stay but they are a little more pricey. Across the street is The Flamingo and they are also excellent. Stick with playing Craps. The odds are better.  :-) I also looove the Bahamas. Very relaxing and romantic.

Because of the time and cost factors this has got to be way over the top and beyond the budget of most. That makes is silly if not downright stupid but.....

Bring her to Australia,South Australia. The outback town of Coober Pedy, there you stay in the underground motel. Is that different? It is not just a hole in the ground, it is amazing! This town is also known as the Opal capitol of the world. You move on to Adelaide and go for a romantic cruise on the paddle steamer, Proud Mary. Adelaide is small by world standards but it is a great little city, very relaxing. A coach trip to the wineries of the Barrossa valley is not to be missed. (Some of the best wine in the world comes from there!) There is a world class casino as well, if you are interested (I am not a gambler personally) a short romantic cruise on the "Popeye" is nice too. (Proud Mary is on the Murrey and Popeye on the Torrens. What do ya think?? Oh well... a nice dream. Oh!! click on the link, hope it works. Itf not you can enter the address into your browser address bar and hit enter.
