After putting this off, just because I'm lazy about picking pictures and uploading them to essential two places, Flickr and here, I'll continue with my journey. After we had some cannoli's we stood around since we didn't know what to do. It started to rain and I noticed tons of people were using umbrellas. It might be where I live, but I never thought people used them that much, but here they do I guess. We finally decide to head back to the subway and we stop a couple of people and my mom asks in spanish where we could find a wallet thats nice, but not to expensive. They weren't sure what she was asking and asked in italian I think if we spoke it, and then in english. I forget if I mentioned this before, but it seemed like most people in Europe spoke english then spanish, which surprised me. They were really nice and suggested this one place along "Buenos Aires Blvd" I think it is, and they took their time explaining how to get to it by subway, very nice I must say.
I don't think we had any problems getting there, and my mom insisted we get an umbrella. We get a pretty one for not to much in a department store and walk up and down the street. We see this store thats set up outside and they had the prettiest leather boots and stuff, but were pretty expensive and I don't think they were any special brand or anything. We were about to give up and head back to the real expensive stores when my mom points out this little shop that had some colorful purses in the window. We head in and they had very unique looking purses and wallets, but expensive. I really liked some of them, but thought well I've never heard of them and they're to expensive, so we leave and head down a few stores when I decide I'd like one anyway. I picked the one that I liked the most and was going to get the smaller one, but my mom insisted I should get the bigger one, which was very cool of her. I still really like it and think it's pretty unique, I honestly don't think I'd find anything like it in the US. If I can find a picture of it, I'll post it.
I was pretty happy after that, I had finally found my wallet even if it cost more then my nice purse that I got awhile ago. After that we were pretty hungary and I saw this resturant that sounded so very tasty, but it wasn't open for another couple hours, I bet it would have be awesome though. We decide to go back to our room and I finally get us lost with the subway. We headed a long ways more then we had to, I had made it more complicated then I should have, but I think that was the worst we ever got lost and it wasn't that bad. My mom wanted to go to a serve yourself type place we had seen since it be cheaper, but it was closed too. We walked a little more and I kept seeing yummy places, but she would take her time to the point where I was getting pretty cranky. She finally decided we should try the first place again and it was open. I had tortellini and some cake I think and man it was good, even from a cafeteria type place.
We headed back to our room and relaxed a little, I think we took a nap. It was still light out when we got up and we headed to the train station to get tickets for the next day. I insisted on Luzern, Switzerland, which I thought for some reason was the same as Lusanne, but not at all, which I would find out the next day. We didn't know where else to go, so we decide where the expensive stores are again. Here's some more pictures from around the area, right by the Duomo again.
When we got there most the stores seemed to be closing, seemed pretty early to me though. My mom see's a mexican looking lady sitting by this statue and she goes and talks to her in spanish. Before long they're chatting about all sorts of things for what seems like hours, but probably just a couple and I'm a little bored, but trying to soak in where I'm at so that I'd appreciate it. I was trying to envision how these people walk by all this everyday like it's nothing to special, and it makes me jealous that I can't be one of those people. Finally she has to go somewhere and everything is closed by now. I talk my mom into buying me a gelato for making me wait and they have the best pistachio gelato ever, had the same the day before too.
We see that one subway entrance was closed and we almost freak out, but the other one was open, so we make it back alright. From there we pack up all our stuff and get ready for Switzerland for the next day. I think I'll leave it there for now, not to exciting, but there will be plenty more.
