Instant noodles history is not long, until now it was just 43 years old. The father Ando who invented instant noodles, is the CEO of Osaka, a Japan-food. After World War II, there are lot of poor people in Japan and it remains a big problem for them to eat rice or noodles. Ando saw people who desire to eat a bowl of noodles have to make a long queque in front of a noodle shop. So he determined to make noodles people do not have to make a queque to buy.
The first instant noodle is called "Chicken Ramen", which was born in 1958. At the same year, the Tokyo Tower and 10,000 yen current were presented. "Chicken Ramen" has another name called : "Magical noodles." This means that as long as you inject hot water, lid off the cover, three minutes later,a bowl of noodles will be ready. However, the price of a packet of 35 yen for the "Chicken Ramen," and the noodles in cooking shops are only 6 yen. The salers are worried about that whether this new merchandise would be sold out eventually. Unexpectedly, half a year later, the "Chicken noodles" became the best-selling food.
Today, the Japanese noodle production is 5.2 billion packages. Average annual consumption is 41 packets, compared with 1958, the growth rate was as high as four hundred times. The type of instant noodles also increased to 880 species. The 10 biggest consumer instant noodles countries were : China, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, the United States, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Brazil.
