My precious lambs, It appears that Odin and his buddies are making a comeback in the world of religion. More and more people are becoming followers of the Norse gods. These people happen to be prisoners. I thought that most people found Jesus when they went to prison. It always made me wonder what Jesus had done to be serving such a long sentence in so many prisons. Now Jesus has competition. The article that I read goes on to say that some of Odin's followers are white supremists. This has lead some people to frown on the religion of Asatru or Odinism. "A 1999 FBI report on domestic terrorism described Odinism as a 'white supremacist ideology that lends itself to violence.'" Is it just me or is there something blaringly wrong with this statement by the FBI? Most white supremists are christian. The most famous white supremist of all times was Catholic. Ownership of slaves in the United States was upheld by the bible which gave the right to white people to own black people. Does it get any more white supremist than that? How does one religion get condemned when a handful of its followers are white suprmecists and another avoid contempt even though there are ogranizations such as the KKK amongst its ranks. The lead sentence on the KKK website reads: Bringing a Message of Hope and Deliverance to White Christian America! You are in luck, my lambs, because your Preacher has the answer for you. It's all a matter of who and how many. That's how simple it is. How many Christians are there? How many Odinists? Sheer numbers allow Christians to get an "amen" on anything they say. Further, the FBI condemns Odonism. It's practiced by prisoners. You know who wins there. The article doesn't tell us how many Christians are prisoners. I would venture a wild guess that there are more Christian prisoners practicing white supremacy than Odinists. Just a guess. In this case, it's probably a double whammy. Hypocritical of course but still a double whammy. The agent that wrote the description for the FBI was probably a Christian. A Christian cop says that Odinist prisoners are bad. He must be right. Pay the Preacher!
