The page you were looking for no longer exists

I know that this is probably not of any real interest to anyone else but me, but I'm posting it anyway. This was the horoscope I read for myself today. And I'm pretty amazed at how well it applies to me. It was pretty long, so I really only copied the relevant parts that really struck me. But I think this is a good message for not just me, but everyone.

You meet some people any given day who fill you with pleasure and joy of life. You feel comfortable and agreeable with them. Their energies are radiating, they just merge with yours, you feel pleased, content and healthy. On the other hand you meet few others that fill you with anguish, anger, frustration and their mere mention can fill us with rage, sadness, disgust and very unhealthy feelings. They literally make us sick by their very presence in real or in our psyche or mind or soul.

This does happen to all beings every single day on any plane. This whole process does occur on a subconscious level of mind, where you feel the vibrations but you don't really notice consciously or you simply do not or cant do much about it. This feeling of not being able to do anything leaves us helpless, frustrated and numb at both conscious and subconscious level. How do you deal with it?

If you become strong, resistant and do not accept the negative image not suiting you well, it will not affect you and this way you can remain in good shape and nothing will affect you. Since this entire episode is on subconscious level, we don't usually give it much importance and ignore it; but if you become aware & alert, you can face it, reject it, repel it and get away from such damaging interactions. In order to live in this world, you are bound to meet people from all walks of life. Each person you interact with, from the closest to a stranger, has his/her own history.

They see you from THEIR eyes; experiences. They view you through colors of their own, not yours. Hence consciously or unconsciously, if you meet some unpleasant people, deal with them without accepting their deep images so that their interaction does not alter or activate your inner dormant feelings. You need to develop & practice on this matter, soon the IMMUNE system of your soul will be hardened like the skin of a turtle, and thus not letting an evil person affect you ever, saving you from bad moods, ill health and consequent disasters. The key of not activating your inner emotions is in your hand. By ignoring you give that key to others. Once you do that you can't expect much. Giving away key leaves you unsafe, vulnerable and weak. Control the keys.

I think that was exactly the lesson I've needed to learn these last few days. And it's weird that a random horoscope could give me the advice I was seeking. That's pretty cool. I love it when things like that are actually helpful. Does anyone else read their horoscopes? Do you believe in things like astrology?

Sorry, I don't read them.  I'm not disbelieving of them, but I don't find them helpful generally speaking.  I find numerology to be more helpful.
  • evil_twin said on Aug 20, 2007....
uniquely--You know, I never really found daily horoscopes to be that accurate. But astrology itself seems pretty on target for me. Like the descriptions of the signs. I know my sign fits me. I don't know as much about numerology. I know I've looked up my number before, but I don't remember what it was.

its interesting and when and if does happen what is written or predicted i usually think its a coincidence... i like reading them but i dont base my decisions on them or make it like the prediction of my life...LOL....
  • brokenandused said on Aug 20, 2007....
i have always been a huge fan of astrology.... maybe too much!! lol I'm a very earthly person though, so i somewhat contradict myself with the whole astrology thing, but o well. I enjoy reading about it !! that's all that counts right?
  • wombat said on Aug 20, 2007....
Not that I believe and follow astrology, I do have to say that I usually glance and read sometimes, and find myself laughing and saying, wow, how close was that?  (On the daily ones)  I also have read some about the charts etc...and alot of it did sound like my personality.  So, who knows?  I wouldn't go out and do something just because my horiscope said to, though. Well, maybe I would if it was minor....lol.  Like, buy a lottery ticket today!  I do know, as a Sag, I shoot for the stars.  And that me and my Scorpio ex were a bad mix from the start!

I do enjoy reading them but I give them no credence.  They are pure entertainment for me.

cookie--I don't base my decisions on them either. I'm sure it is mostly coincidental when they come true.

broken--I'm like you. I think it's a lot of fun to read about!

wombat--I'm much more interested in the astrology profiles, than the daily horoscopes. I usually glance at those, but don't really pay them any attention unless they happen to fit perfectly with my day. Like this one today! Otherwise, I usually just read it for fun.

rww--They are entertainment. But sometimes they do have some interesting advice!

  • nursecutie said on Aug 20, 2007....

I love astrology!! I think that the horoscopes you see are mostly stupid, but I like the books about your personality and star signs. I think those are pretty good! :)

I also see why this horoscope reading was important to you. It tells you everything you need to know right now. It's not really a prediction, but advice. I liked reading it :) I think that you should really pay attention to what it's saying. It'll help!

sometimes I read them in magazines...and I like it if it is all good and then I think it is likely true and if it is stupid or bad, I think it is hogwash. Mamie

et- The only things in the cosmos that have a noticeable effect on us is the sun and the moon. And they definitely have noticeable effects. All others are too weak to affect an individual's life in a personal manner.

    That's my take.
  • travelr712 said on Aug 21, 2007....
that sounded more like a meditation than a horoscope to me, did i miss something? the horoscopes i usually see are worded more specifically to one type of person. but nonetheless, the ideas in this one are very good. sometimes reading a passage like that can help to put ideas into better perspective.
  • silverwhisper said on Aug 21, 2007....
i can definitely see how that would resound with you, kyle. :>

    Very cool, Kyle!

That said, no, I don't put stock in horoscopes/astrology, although sometimes good advice leaks out anyway (and I have to admit I do bear some resemblances to my sign, good old Scorpio ;-)).

cutie--You're absolutely right about this. This wasn't a prediction, so much as advice for the day. It was just too perfect for me not to post up. If for no other reason than I needed to be able to look at it again to remind myself! :-)

mamie--I think everyone is like that! If the horoscope is good, you believe it. If it sucks, then you think it's crap! :-P I do the same thing!

beyond--I believe the sun and the moon are pretty powerful too. They always say people go crazy on a full moon....

trav--I went to this website and it said it had daily horoscopes for all the signs. So I punched mine in, and this is what it told me. I think it's not so much a daily forecast, but advice to heed for the day. It's almost like a daily affirmation, than a horoscope. I suspect that other people under my sign have the same problems with being overly sensitive and it's good advice to learn by. But yeah, it's not like any traditional horoscope I've seen either.

silver--Exactly. That's why it blew me away because it was like this random website knew exactly what I needed to hear! It was kind of cool.

infernal--I'm actually surprised that more people here are not into this stuff. I think it can be very accurate in terms of describing someone's personality. I do think it depends on the exact time of your birth though too. Some people don't have many of the stereotypical traits, and others have them all. I just think it's really interesting :-)

  • destinydiva said on Aug 21, 2007....
hi evil~ I believe in horoscopes, I also believe that answers you need can be found anywhere, ask a question and turn on the radio? ask a question and open a book or newspaper at a random page and the answer will be there.... I do this all the time, am i having a de ja vu here or did we already have this convo??  wow, we did have a similar convo when i first met you here!! anyways....
thats my opinion, saying that my life is a mess right now... so it may not be a good theory!!!  :-)
  • evil_twin said on Aug 21, 2007....
fire--I know that song :-P But I don't really believe that horoscopes are able to tell the future. I don't put that much stock in them. I just think they're interesting sometimes.

destiny--We did have that conversation! I totally forgot. But I believe the same thing you do. I needed to learn this lesson that I stumbled on yesterday. It was no accident that I went to a totally random website and found this advice. I was supposed to find it. I just didn't know I was looking for it. It's kind of cool :-)

this says something to all SCers who latelypayed ANY attention to what was going on here....
  • jasonrest said on Aug 21, 2007....
It seems to me that you could easily rearrange the horoscopes to fit a different sign and it would be just as relevant. If you read carefully, the horoscopes purposely remain as vague as possible, which allows room for interpretation.

i read the Book.. Linda Goodmans Sun Signs   was the most amazing book on astrology I have read this was back in 1978.. I had how to recognize  eg. An Aries Man ... an Aries Woman....child ...boss ...employer ect ...I found my self  underlining (trying to remember if they had high lighters then)  things I found true. and rereading and being honest and unerlining things i didnt like to admit.... oh that comment about highlighters ... is typical for an Aquarius (Mind always thinking)
  • buckrogers said on Aug 21, 2007....

I've been writing horoscopes pro bono for 15 years.  Reading the sun signs printed in various publications is very misleading.  If a prediction printed in the newspaper, for example, holds true for you, it is probably coincidental, unless you have a strong sun in your chart.

To be sure, the sun is the most influential in your chart, but it may be heavily modified by the moon, and its position and sign, as well as the time of the day in which you were born.  Let's say two Virgos are born on the same day.  One is born early morning with a Capricorn moon and the other born in the evening with an Aquarius moon.  You are describing two very different people, even though they are born on the same day.

The morning Virgo is a go-getter and very ambitious, inclined probably to the health field, with a strong mars, could possibly become a surgeon.  The evening Virgo is very friendly, and dependent on others.  This person may like pets and could become a veterinarian, with the help of a partner.

This is a brief example of how the time of day can completely change a personality and why a reading out of a newspaper or magazine lacks credibility.

There are also several schools of astrology that don't always agree and the reason you need somebody who knows both you and your chart before any accurate predictions can be made.  Astrologers are like artists: drawing a word picture of yourself, but each artist is going to see you a bit differently.  However, the overall image from each artist should paint your picture in much the same way.

Just remember your physical body is made of the same atoms as the sun and moon.  You were born into a particular family, in  a particular community, in a particular country...at a particular time in history.  Why?  Why can you get along with some people, but not with others?  Why do you have wonderful luck one week, and everything goes wrong the next?  Those are the kind of questions that astrologers answer better than in any other artform.

ZsuzsiO--I agree. It was good advice, regardless of whether you really believe in astrology. I hope it might have helped more than just me :-)

jason--I know you're right. I don't really put a lot of stock into a horoscope you read in the paper or somewhere. I just think they're a bit of fun. But this particular bit of advice seemed pretty relevant to me.

waking--I have a book like that. I can't remember the name off hand though. It's interesting stuff!

buckrogers--Wow, you write horoscopes? That's pretty interesting! But you do bring up a good point that it's all very dependent on many different factors in order to have accuracy. I still get some entertainment out of reading them now and again.

I don't read them at all, mainly because a college of buddy of mine use to right them. As I mentioned before, I'm a journalist. My buddy is a journalist, and his first job out of college was writing these horoscopes for a syndicate firm which sent them to the newspapers who subscribed to their service. He told me he didn't base what he wrote on anything in particular, just how he felt that day and what people MIGHT believe.

So have fun with them, but take them with a grain of salt.

  • DesertMermaid said on Aug 22, 2007....

e_t : Its a very insightful post. I think it applies to everyone. I never thought of it that way you know.

Personally I am a believer. No not those daily astrology thing they publish on the net or in the mags though I read them all the same! Like nursecutie, I love the books about your personality, how your birth order shapes your life etc.

Actually I believe in numerology a lot. Some of the predictions have come true for me. Only time can tell about the others. At times they pressurize me too but I try not to think of the bad ones too much.

  • evil_twin said on Aug 22, 2007....
5dollar--That's good advice. I don't really take them seriously, but they are fun.

desert--Wasn't the message of this post a good one? It didn't really seem like a horoscope to me, but just some great words of advice we could all benefit from. And I'm like you. I don't really believe the daily horoscopes, but I think there is some truth to the personality profiles.
  • DesertMermaid said on Aug 22, 2007....

e_t , Of course it was a great one. One of the most insightful things I've come across. Thanks a lot for sharing and as I said it applies to everyone irrespective of the fact as whether or not you are a believer :)

  • evil_twin said on Aug 22, 2007....
desert--Thank you :-) I think you are absolutely right. You don't have to believe in this stuff to take something away from the words I posted. I'm glad you got something out of it, as I did.
