          "EYES"

Black eyes, blue eyes

Absolute and truthful

Loved and dreamed eyes

Desired eyes of yours.

The Beauty is mean

My road doesn’t get there

And my love doesn’t know why

Oh, eyes...blue and distant

Magnets and diamonds

So beautiful and impatient

As two vibrant hawks in the sky

Eyes that leave me deaf,

Stunned, seated

And I don’t understand why

Eyes without return, another day went by.

Eyes without words,

I watched them passing by

This snow will end, this winter will be short

And the courage maybe will come, tomorrow.

Black eyes, blue eyes

Absolute and truthful

Eyes so waited and sought

Crazy, irresponsible eyes of yours.

Eyes without silence, my day is arrived

Eyes without dreams, I can’t wait anymore

I will melt this snow, this April will be short

And my love will remember it.

I will melt this snow and the pain will be short

My love will thank me.

Black eyes, blue eyes

Olives and ink

Like seas at night on nights without stars.

Black eyes of yours

Magnets and opals

Absolute and careful

Eyes of my childhood

Eyes of my contentment

Hidden eyes, obscured by tears.

Large eyes of our home, open and immense.

Burning lights of my memory

This rain will stop and my love will be safe

This pain will be short and my heart will thank you.

Lovely Ginger. The eyes are the mirror of the soul.

    Pollie....thank you......

what color are your eyes? Black, correct?.....:-)

  • gingersoul said on Aug 19, 2007....
Skald......yes, they are..... but they can also be deceiving ...too much beauty distracts sometimes by the soul they should instead reflect.....thank you...
  • polarheart said on Aug 19, 2007....
Gingi, yes they are almost black, very dark brown that its hard to see the pupils unless under bright light.

AAAh, now I see that part of my comment was cut off. . .I also said that I loved the part of the poem where you speak about the vibrant hawks in the sky. . .lovely imagery.

Did you write this for or about someone special?

    Pollie.....so your eyes will be the vibrant hawks....{hug}

Uhmm.. ..yes and not...its difficult sometimes to understand from where some imagination might sprout........i think this poetry is more a collection of the many eyes that i loved and the ones that fooled me.....

ginsoul- I like this because eyes have been the first thing I notice on girls. Most of the time you can read a lot of a girl through her eyes. All eyes can be beautiful, but blonde hair and brown eyes or black hair and blue eyes are striking to me. My wife has great big blue eyes and brown hair.

But you know what? Eyes on men mean nothing to me, its as though they don't even have any. I guess that's because I'm usually not interested in them. I talk to their face, not the eyes as with a woman. Women's eyes are magical, mens are like trash cans.

Mine are tremendously exciting, if you have an affinity for mud - dirt brown.

My wife compliments mine, but she compliments me if I get out of bed. She's just nice that way.

Ginger.  I see what you mean but you must look further. D o you get me.? I think especially brown eyes deceive. Not yours Polar. !!! Do you have a comment. Is it just because of my nationality that I think that? Luv

Beautiful Gingerbread, eyes are amazing, I think women are more in tune with eyes than men. When I was young, I used to fight allot and one thing I learned about eyes was that they would tell you when someone was about to strike a first blow. Rather than watch the hands, watch the eyes, they tell on the hands.

You have allot of depth to your soul Gingerbread and I don't have to look into your eyes to know that, or that you are a very beautiful person. Thanks for sharing your beauty with us Gingerbread.
  • gingersoul said on Aug 19, 2007....

BeyBey......may i give one possible explanation of why you don't find men's eyes interesting? Because they are like yours. You see yourself reflected in them.

The eyes of a woman is a lake in which you never know with absolute certainty where how far you can look...

I think we women feel the same attraction toward the eyes of a man...and when we notice a woman'eyes if because we compare her lashed, shapes and color to our eyes......

I like brown eyes in a man.....they are warm and inviting...

I am blonde with hazel-golden brown eyes...what do you think?...:-)

  • gingersoul said on Aug 19, 2007....

Skald.....this is so interesting ...you found brown eyes the most deceiving......i think it can be a cultural concept. I get that Iceland is a mostly white-blonde hair-blue eyes population type. I think that in the ancestral portion of your brain brown eyes could be be still related with foreigners, danger, enemies........very interesting.......

For us Italians, for example, blue eyed people could be found only in few regions, mostly in the North but surprisingly also in the South, specially Sicily. The rest of the country shared for generations the classic brow-black-green kind of color. Then with the new generations, lets say in the last 20-25 years, due to various factors the blue eyes has started to spread more widely.

Mobil.....yes, i read an article about the tecnique of fighting in Japan, you knwo the Ninja warriors and so on......and they were saying the same thing......never leave your focus from the opponent's eyes....

Isn't the same about love? We have a saying in Italy "Lontano dagli occhi, lontano dal cuore" meaning "Far from the eyes, far from the heart"...meaning "If i don't see you you can  fool me"...the distance from the eyes increases the chances of being betrayed...

Psst.....thank you so much for your words.....:-)

ginsoul- Perhaps you are right about mens attitude toward other mens eyes. I do know there is no depth in them to me.

As far as yours go, remember my first choice, blonde with brown. The gold only sweetens the pot. Can you tell me about your daughter's hair and eyes?
  • gingersoul said on Aug 19, 2007....

Ed...yes, you are right......when i reread it i found more sadness that i thought .....

its like when you danced and the music is over...your feet somehow continue to dance for a while, only alone........its a confusing feeling.....sometimes unnerving.....

BeyBey......lol......the gold sweetens the pot...how cute......:-)

My daughter's hair are light brown that in the summer gets almost dark blonde. And she has my eyes color just a little more golden brown than hazel compared to mine....... she is a beauty!

  • polarheart said on Aug 19, 2007....
Gingi and Skaldikins, I can understand why brown/black eyes can be conceived as more deceiving. . .I think its because you cant look so far into to them.  You need to be really up close to a person with that colour eyes as you cannot study them from a distance.  I love light eyes because they draw you in, both Mr Polar and Tigger have beautiful blue eyes.

oh Ginger, this is so beautiful and it also tugged at my heart...what is it about those eyes that have hurt us before? They sear into our hearts and leave a scar, I think. And the eyes of comfort are there too and we can recognize them quickly...I love this poem, thank you!
  • gingersoul said on Aug 20, 2007....

Pollie.......yes, it must be that brown eyes need more closeness to be read ....blue eyes are maybe more out there...even more variable in their shades .

my ex husband has beautiful blue eyes too...that would turn greysh-blue when he was tired ...

Mom....you are always so nice to me...thank you...

Wombat.....oh, dont ask..lol.....i have hundreds of poems, many of them not even copied on files.......they are still on papers kept in drawers, written on notebooks, old diaries......

BeyBey....i look at her and i cant believe she is so beautiful .....when people tells me she looks like me i have a very hard time in seeing it...maybe here or there...and yes, she is smart.....she is a 12 y-o going 30....thank you :-)

  • gingersoul said on Aug 20, 2007....

    Quiet.......thank you for appreciating it...:-)

Infernal.....i am happy you like it!

    Mamie.....you are so right..........the eyes of comfort.....the eyes of the dear friends and the eyes of our mothers...the eyes of our people and the people we don't even know yet.......watching...searching, looking, choosing.....sometimes closing forever.....{hug}

ginger -- i like this poem. i've read it several times, and each time, a new facet, another layer of meaning emerges. just like our eyes subtly changing iris size and shade as we undergo shifts of emotion.

the last two lines of the poem produce echoes in my mind because they are so simply stated and yet they ring with so much hope and truth. i like poems that end in a joyful note. ah, but you know that already... :-) ((hugs))

It is harder to share pain than it is joy. Sometime with the help of friends and family, we endure our pains. But sometimes we have to stand alone. But if you maintain a postive outlook and endure cheerfully, we will find more company along the way....

And

and...
Say Goodnight

Close your eyes
Under starlit skies...
I suppose, anyway, just quit looking at my coffee ... that'll get you into trouble and you don't want trouble....
