Our visitors arrived yesterday. Finally! They were late getting here. They were supposed to be here at 11am but didn't show up until 2pm! They got sidetracked visiting Lake Tahoe. But once they got here, it was a lot better than I feared. My MIL is very different than what I remembered. She used to be very abrasive and harsh and she made me feel so uncomfortable. We'd gotten into many fights because she felt like I was stealing her 'baby' away from her. It was ridiculous because her 'baby' was 21 years old at the time.

But I guess now that time has passed, we've both changed. She was so excited to see me, that I felt even worse for dreading her visit. I just had no idea what to expect from her. I was pleasantly surprised. And she's totally in love with our son, which embarrasses him to no end. I think he's had his fill of hugs and kisses for awhile! She's seen him before, but not since he was 4 years old. It's been awhile! My husband took him to visit when they were in San Diego, but I didn't go with them. I was being a recluse again.

My SIL is so much different than I remember too. But that's understandable since she was barely 6 years old the last time I saw her. She's all grown up now. She even brought her boyfriend with her. My MIL seems to think that the two of them will get married, but let's not rush it like we did! lol They're only 17 years old. Of course, she married my FIL when she was 19. And my mother got married at 19. And my husbands good brother (not the evil one) got married at 20. I guess we're all crazy in our families when it comes to getting married too soon!

But it's been a nice visit so far. Today is my husbands birthday too. He's 35 and now he feels old. lol 35 better not be old because I'll be there soon enough myself! Right now, they're all sightseeing around town, and I'm enjoying my solitude before they get back. I'm not sure why I feel I need that so much, even when the company is good, but I guess I'm just weird like that. Luckily, no one questioned the fact that I chose to stay home.

I guess I better get my butt in gear though, because they'll be back here before I know it, and I'm still not dressed! lol
