Yippe! I'm allowed 7 posts now! lol Not that I could possibly think of anything worthy of 7 posts in one day! Do you guys really post that much?

That was not the point of this though, but if it was, I could probably string out my 7 posts pretty easily. If I just posted one meaningless thought for each one, I'd be in business! lol But what I really wanted to post about was this. I think some of the people I've come in contact with already, might be able to shed some light on this problem I have.

First a little history. I work at an office that I've been with for the last 9 years. Lately, we've gone through some changes and the work environment pretty much sucks. We're all underpaid and underappreciated, and completely overworked. There are supposed to be 3 of us doing this particular job, but now there are only 2. And it's just too much work for only 2 people. We've been feeling the stress something pretty fierce.

To the point that every time I walk into the place, I'd get a headache or a stomachache. I feel sick just pulling into the parking lot. And it's been getting worse every single day. And about a month or so ago, I noticed something odd. The two rings I wear, and have always worn, started to turn black. It was the weirdest thing I'd ever seen.

One ring is gold and the other is silver, and both are genuine metals. It's not a case of some cheap jewelry turning my fingers green. In fact, my fingers are fine. It's just the rings that have changed color. It started with a tiny spot, then it kept growing until both of the rings were completely black.

I tried washing them, using jewelry cleaner, scrubbing them, and nothing worked. The only thing that worked was rubbing compound that my husband uses on his car. They were clean again! I did this on a Friday, and they stayed perfect all weekend. Monday, a tiny spot showed up on the silver ring. By Tuesday night, both rings were completely black again. In record time!

I tried to think if I'd been in contact with anything weird or caustic. But I hadn't. I'm using the same soap and lotion, etc. that I've always used. Both at home and at work. I can't think of any outside reason for my rings to change colors.

So I cleaned them again, right before I started a wonderful three week vacation from work. It's been two weeks now, and my rings are still perfect. Is it possible that my job has so much negative energy that my rings are actually absorbing that? I don't know what else to think. Why would they turn black when I go there, and stay perfect now that I'm on vacation? Nothing else is different in my life or my routine.

Any thoughts? If someone knows about energies and the like, that would be amazing. Or if someone knows about jewelry too that might help! I'm just at a loss, and wondering what is going to happen when I return to work.

Help?

Hi Moonstone....This is just a guess but it seems to me your job is stressing you out.... you said you feel sick to your stomach just pulling into the parking lot. your body is probably releasing some chemical and causing a color change (I'm thinking acid??)  while on a relaxed vacation you were not stressing...... I can't say i know for sure Its a wild speculation. Good Luck hon

Moonstone, wakingharmony could be on to something...vinegar will take
care of the acid that maybe in your skin. this is bad but,,,,when i go over to
my mother-in-law's house i CAN NOT stay awake because of the bad karma
i totally shut-down. I have been in this family for 11 years and it is always the same,
even if other folks are there. it does make me feel bad not being able
    to function but.....
If this job of yours is that stressful you WILL feel it in your body in various
ways, it Maybe time for a change. Take care of yourself and try putting vinegar
on your hands to see if the blackening goes away....white vinegar.
    see ya

i've heard that this could be caused by a lack of iron- not sure if that's an old wives tale or not.

also there are oxides in some cosmetics which can rub away at gold jewelry and cause your skin to turn black.  have you been using a different make-up?

are you taking any kind of new medication?

wakingharmony, I think you might be right. I suppose that is possible. Does stress really make you emit chemicals? lol I wouldn't be surprised though. The body can be a weird thing.

Me-Myself&I, I guess I could try doing that but that'll be stinky, won't it? lol I did try to clean the rings with vinegar and baking soda, but that did nothing at all. I do think it might be time for a change though, like you said. Too much stress isn't good for anyone.

secretlife, I don't know about the iron. Only because I eat the same now as I did when I was working. If it was my diet, I'd assume the problem wouldn't resolve while on vacation. And the problem is actually not my skin turning colors, but the rings themselves. That was what was so weird. My fingers are normal looking. But no, I'm not taking an medications or using different makeup. That's why this is so baffling to me!

    Moonstone,

I won't go into detail of how I know of such things, but I can give you something that will stop this. Its not evil nor is it satanic, I very much beleive in God.

Chant to yourself 3x. If the first 3 times doesn't releive it do it again.

    Who ever you are,
    what ever you do
    what you send to me
    will come back to you.

What is happening is called psychic attack
  • moonstone said on Aug 15, 2007....
VeMacKay, don't worry. I'm familiar with this sort of thing :-) But I do want to ask you, what sort of psychic attack? Is this something I'm doing to myself or someone is doing to me? Thank you for the chant, and I will try it.
  • quietone said on Aug 16, 2007....

To make it more simple, why don't you just go to a jewler when your rings are black and ask them what it is.  I am sure they could at least head you in the right direction.  It is probably something airborne at work that is affecting your precious metals.  Why would it not do it when you aren't at work.  The same thing with a psychic attack, why would it only do it at work...if it is psychic it could happen anywhere, I would think.  When/if you find out the mystery, come back and let us all know!

  • VeMacKay said on Aug 16, 2007....
The type of psychic attack is coming from numerous people in your work area. This means that there is common negativity among the majority of the crew within your work area. The dwelling on this negativity is fuel and it will fester even further.

Your rings, if you will are a positive and a negative charge and its trying to absorb these negativities so it will not affect you.

Hematite will do you wonders if you can get a necklace or a magnetic hematite bracelet you will fell a great relief. However when hematite is full of negativity it will break and tis si what its supposed to do. Its fairly inexpensive and easy to replace.

As far as your home goes--we tend to bring work home with us thus, filling our place of rest with the same negativities. Lighting white candles and cleansing  your home with sage will create a harmonic atmosphere.

Glad to help and ask anytime you have a question in this area.

Quietone, I just might do that if the rings turn black again. I did ask someone who works with jewelry and they tried to fix it for me, and had no results or answers! But I might try to take it to someone else. And the thing about the psychic attack is that it's the people I work with, I assume. And if I'm not around them, it doesn't affect me. Just a guess though!

VeMacKay, I think you hit on something. So you're saying that it's not necessarily that someone is out to get me, but that we are all so unhappy, the negative energy is attacking us all? Maybe I'm just more prone to being affected by it? I do have some hematite! I can carry that with me to work. I have stones, or a ring. Will that work as well as what you suggested? We've smudged our house with sage in the past, but how often should you do it? Whenever you start to feel bad energies? I really appreciate your help! This is actually the sort of advice I was hoping to find. So thank you!

Wow Moonstone, you're far from boring!!!I really enjoy reading your entries! The same thing happened to a friend of mine - she went through a hard time recently and this ring she had on, turned black and after that she met someone new. She is happy now and apparently, her ring is back to it's colour...

This is very interesting. I stumbled on this blog, because I saw someone else mention your name. So first off, I want to say hi! And second, I think you've gotten some good advice to this situation. I'd have to say that the rings are absorbing negativity. Either from you, or your environment. I know that sometimes crystals are used to absorb negativity energy from a person or a place, and it seems like the same is being done with your rings. Only you just didn't realize it was happening!

I hope that maybe you consider changing jobs or something. It sounds like a bad place to be.

lyssa, wow, this has happened to someone else? And the ring went back to it's normal color on it's own? That's really neat! And thank you for saying I'm not boring! I hope I'm interesting enough to continue to be read! lol

evil_twin, hi! Thanks for your input. I have heard of that happening to crystals, but I've never actually seen it happen! I guess you are right about needing a new job. I've considered it. I'm just not very good with changes, even when I know it's for the best. I always worry that a new job might be even worse! lol At least this misery is familiar. But I suppose that's not a very good excuse!
