This is Cheney's views on Iraq in 1994. Amazingly it is the polar opposite of his current views. He clearly lays out the serious problems we'd have if we invaded Iraq. I can not begin to explain how he went from this to the Cheney we have now.

in cheney's defense (may those words never pass my keyboard again!), when he serves as vice president, his views must be subordinated to the president's, wouldn't you say?

Human nature. Just like so many people, Dick Cheney wants what he wants when he wants it. Rationalizations are more important than sex.
