i'll be gone for the weekend!!!

i'll be attending an acquintance party of the new organization i joined. it's a school organization.

anyway this organization are for nature lovers and for people who want to save our environment.

at first i hesitated joining this org but as i saw their work i joined them! i really like that not only that they make people aware of our environment, true friendships are born from this organization.

this weekend we are going to a nature trip. i dont know yet if we were gonna climb a mountain or maybe just a nature walk. but i'm excited beucase i know this would be fun!

i'm doing my part to save our environment. how about you?

it does not really have to be something big. just simple things. like for example i recycle a lot of stuff and i dont burn plastic.

We are buying energy-saving light bulbs, and just watched Oprah Winfrey's show about how critical it is to do something NOW to save the planet.  It seems it will only work, if EVERYBODY does the things suggested.  They showed a chart that said that the United States is the major country that needs to do something.  I was surprised that hubby watched with me.  And not surprised that he asked me, "But is it too late already?"

Enjoy your nature weekend and be careful.  Hope to see some pics!  Keep that phone handy.

we recycle as much as we can. we have curbside recycling for newspapers, glass, plastic, and aluminum as well as other cans, but to recycle anything else, we have to take it to the recycling center.

we've also replace as many of our lightbulbs as we can with energy efficient bulbs. plus, we try to reduce our electrical consumption as much as possible.

that nice to hear zayda! recycling rules!!!
  • Zayda said on Aug 14, 2007....
it does, but it can be a pain in the ass sometimes. for instance the area we live in, you are required to rinse every glass, bottle, and can out. for glass bottles, you are supposed to, if possible, peel the labels off, and for canned goods, like canned tuna, beans, etc. you are required to peel the label off.

some friends of ours live in a city 30 minutes south of us. they don't have to do anything but put their recyclables in their container for curbside pickup--no rinsing, no label peeling. and they get cardboard picked up curbside as well.

really? you have to peel the labels off? honestly it makes no different if it has a label or not... =)

    oddly, we don't, either. ?
