Some decades ago, someone wrote to Ann Landers saying her husband would
wake her in the night requesting sex. As best I recall, Ann said that
was OK once in a while but not as a regular thing. That surprised me.
So, SC ladies and gentlemen, how would you take to being awakened from a sound sleep with a request for sex?
In our house, it would be unthinkable. Wife likes a little prior notice at the best of times, and is very grouchy when awakened.

Well on the weekends when I can go back to sleep or maybe even take a nap during the day I don't think I'd mind. On a work day, you are out of your mind!?! I can barely wake up to my alarm let alone someone "poking" me! I tell my boyfriend I wouldn't mind on the weekends but he claims he's tried and I usually push him away or hit him or something not so nice. I really have no clue since I must still be asleep since I have no recollection of it. I'm quite willing at most any time if I'm not asleep so.... I guess the conclusion is I agree that sometimes is ok if you can actually get me to wake up!I just thought of something though...maybe it's different for guys because I've awaken my boyfriend several times in many different ways at many different times and he's always very happy to wake up and continue what I've started! -

I'm in my prime, so my appetite is pretty voracious these days, but I must admit, I'm cranky without enough sleep. I can't stand to wake up too close to when my alarm is already scheduled to go off. It's like being cheated out of that extra hour or half hour.
However, middle of the night sex, if sufficiently smack in the middle of the sleep session might not be too bad, and only a quickie, then I could still go back to sleep, and might actually help me sleep BETTER.
I never take sleeping pills, but if I can't sleep, I usually resort to an orgasm for that slumber aid. Works every time.

I'm with many of the above... weekends, it's fine. Not during the week; not when I'm up at 4 or 5.I've been the waker more then once, and I loved it. I don't think I've ever woken somebody up to have sex. Not in the middle of the night. In the morning, yeah. But usually once I'm asleep, I stay that way. But if she woke me up, I'd probably do it. But I'm kind of cranky if someone wakes me up from a good sleep. I don't think this would be my favorite thing. I prefer to be fully conscious to enjoy the moment!

Generally there's no need. We are usually tired out from all the sex before sleep. But once I woke up in the middle of the night and before I was even completely out of sleep mode I just started touching her. Within ten minutes we were at it and done within 15 and we both fell asleep again. The next morning she said she had a dream about us making love last night. I told her it happened.
