The page you were looking for no longer exists

I've only been a member of Soul Cast for a very little time compared to some, and in the beginning I was welcomed by others with an open arm, so to speak. After my short period in time, and my wanderings through the endless amount of blogs here, I've noticed something that I didn't know before signing up here... there is a lot of drama and stress in this small piece of the internet world. Whether it's someone bashing others because of their religious beliefs, or others posting blogs just in spite of someone else on here, or some lonely sick person trying to take over one's identity on a blog, or  people critisizing (sp?) others about what is an important blog, to just out right slaunder of ones self... every where I turn there's drama on here.

I was steered to this site by a friend on here, in hopes that it would release some of my thoughts, writtings and get advice from people that seem to truly care. She said this site was full of wonderful people, and the commented that the 'high school' drama didn't exist among most of the people posting. From what I've seen that isn't a true statement ( Sorry Deb). I have very few hours of free time each week for the internet and I get on here to relax, have fun and meet new people, and I just don't see myself fitting in here.

Perhaps I'm overlooking something, some one, some blog, some post, some comment to reflect that this site is something worth putting my time into. If I am, I apologize to those I'm offending... but I just don't see myself fitting in.

As I write this... I wonder if others felt the same way when starting out... or still feel the same way now?

give it more time, rainstorm. this site is such a thickly-populated site. pls continue blogging straight from your heart and soul, and soon you will find your own voice, your own niche, and circle of online friends. don't mind the drama... they are just transient background noise... ;-)

rainstorm, the drama comes and goes... I ignore it for the most part. There are a lot of great things about soulcast and I think you can still do what you came here to do...just give it a little time as moonriver said. I've been here for almost a year and it's worth it.

Rain Storm ~ I came here to get away from stress and fighting in my every day life.  It is inevitable that we will run into people that just want to fight and argue and put people down.  At least here I can cruise on past it, although I have allowed myself to get involved when I felt strongly about the post.  I hope you give it a little more time.  There are many good, kind, wonderful people here.  I've been here four months and have found it to be addictive and theraputic.  Take care and I hope to see more of you.

RainStorm, there are a lot of great people here. Yes, people do fight sometimes, but that can be ignored. I've been a part of several online communities and you'd be hard pressed to find one that didn't have drama at one time or another. That's just how things are. But the majority of bloggers here are not like that.

Look around some more and hopefully you'll find something worth sticking around for :-)

moonriver, mirrorimage, notsosingle, eviltwin, and ginger,
Thanks for the response, I will take your advice and continue to blog. I guess I just happen to stumble on the wrong blogs lol. Thanks again for your comment.

Rain, wherever you find people you will find the dynamics of community - all of them - no matter where we go, even at church or other religious gatherings, there you will find diversity and conflicting opinions.  Like Ginger said, you can choose with whom you want to associate and those are the ones you subscribe to and comment on.  I hope that you find peace in whatever you decide to do.

Rain - I'm sorry you haven't found the peace you wanted here.  I can honestly say I have but I miss a lot of stuff too.  I ignore the mess that is the drama.  This place is wonderful because you can pick and choose "happy" all the time.  I hope you stay.  You sound like a very nice person and a great addition to the "happy all the time" part.

Rain storm. We don't really have to be where the drama is. There are so many people here, we can well enough find people whom we like. The others we just keep clear of. I am sorry you feel this way. I have seen some fights here but somehow I am always where the nice people are. You did not offend me and I hope I offend no one. There are a few SouCasters that I feel are my friends now. Not many, I have always had many acquiescences and a few friends and some of them have been my friends all my life. I can say that I feel that there are 4 people here that are my friends and I theirs. And that is good. I joined in February. So go on blogging, say out of the drama and make friends. Luv from me.

Welcome to Soul Cast.  There is some drama here sometimes.  For the most part it is full of great people though.  I hope you are pleasantly surprised.  :-)

Rain.......Like others have already said I agree that there are lots of warm and wonderful people here. Looking at the people who have responded to your post I m sure you will find friends among us. I have great respect for everyone that has come to this post and I m sure there are many more. Stick around if you can and find out how enjoyable the good guys can be.

Rain Storm.....you've very eloquently put out what I at sometime felt. But sometimes I'm hard pressed to express myself in anything more than a few one-liners & quotes, which pretty much sum it up for me but leave everyone else in the dark. Am I waffling again? In a nutshell, what you said above: ditto - I felt it too. And it's not out right fights or comments - I'm fine with those. I respect people that can be straight forward. (Looking back, I TRULY respect the person that told me straight out to go eat a bible without hiding behind an anonymous comment). But the sarcastic copy-cat-ting of identity sent shivers down my spine, & other creepy "anonymous" stuff... BUT THE GOOD NEWS!!!! The people that have commented here on your post, are the ones worth sticking around for. I can tell you from experience that I've "met" most of the above commentors & them's cool people. Sooooooo...having said that, I look forward to more from you. I, too, however have limited time here, so I often feel pretty much in the dark.

rainstorm... surf other blogs, there are blogs out there that is in your interest level, we read what makes us feel good... i also think that blogging is a way of expressing your thoughts and feelings, never forget that... your blogs is about you.

its up to you to read other blogs, choose the ones you want to read and avoid those you dont want to meddle into... explore and find new friends...

i really hope you can see the lighter side of this site, its not that bad once you get the hang of it... there is a balance in everything...

come on give it a chance, a second thought, a benefit of the doubt...

  • silverwhisper said on Jul 30, 2007....
rain storm, just like any community, there's periodically ugliness, no doubt. but just like any community, there is also great strength in this place, and i think you'll see that quite soon. :>

Polar, thanks for the words, I realize that in every setting there are always some that have conflict and trials. I guess I had just hoped that I found one small niche in the internet where there wasn't... what was i thinking?

Fearing, thanks, I not entirely sure where my place is here but will continue to travel through the blogs and try to find it! Might take me years, there are a lot of bloggers here lol.

skald, I can see that a lot of people on here are friends and close. I guess i didn't realize how big SC was and still learning my way around.

Jenna, ty for the welcome... i look forward to reading your blogs. You come recommended by gingersoul lol

Creativewoman, thank you will continue to look around. Thanks again.

Botoni, thank you, i will definitely look around some more.

Jade, thanks... I'm glad I'm not the only one that has felt this way. Ive never been on to meddle in the problems and try to steer clear of the drama, I guess i just choose the wrong posts to read.

Sweet cookie,  Thank you, I will surf through other blogs and try to keep up. With my limited time on here, I miss alot!

Silver, thanks I will continue to look for that 'fitting in' place.

1 thing im starting to realise is that high school drama nvr fades away even thgh you've graduated from high school itself. i wonder why its called high school drama and not dramas-from-days-of-our-lives. hmm.

anyway, hope you'll give it time. hopefully, we both would eventually fit in. =)
btw, i dun read harry potter books but i watched the movies. lack of imagination to read such fantasy books.
  • Rain_Storm said on Aug 01, 2007....
masked- I think you are right about the high school drama and how it never fades. Maybe someone should write a screen play on the days and lives of soul cast! Won't hold it against ya that you dont read HP books...hehe The movies are good too!!!

It wouldn't be worth reading without a few scandals thrown in!  And you can always collaborate with Hunter on a couple of conspiracies, too, Silver!

Rain:  It's always a pleasure to welcome new people to SC.  The drama just adds a little flair to the mix.

Blast, I can see how the drama would liven things up if I were  on here to read a story or be entertained. It's just not something I want in my internet time as it's very little. I was told this blogging site wasn't overtaken by the name calling, the drama, head games or any other childish behavior. But, at last, the recommodation didn't warn me on what blogs to steer clear of. I've been lucky to read a few blogs from very nice people, but believe this site isn't for me. As I do not blog daily, or even weekly sometimes, I miss so much of what was written.  Good luck to everyone on their blogs and hope all find laughter, love, and surround themselves with happiness.
