ac·quain·tance (ə-kwānʹtəns) noun

1.       Knowledge of a person acquired by a relationship less intimate than friendship.

2.     A person whom one knows.

3.                Knowledge or information about something or someone.

I’m just curious.  Some of you read my posts on the regular some of you just pass by.  I am acquainted with some of you through your writing, and through your comments.  I am selfish in that I usually only read the posts of the people who comment on my posts.  What I would like is to get to know the people who just pass by without saying a word.  If you should happen to read this, I would really like to get to know you a little better.  So please tell me something of who you are.  You don’t have to bare your soul :)  Peace and Long Life

I've seen your comments recently, but don't remember seeing you before.

Hmmm, I'm a compulsive person.  I kinda like that about myself, even though it isn't always an asset.

I remember you from last summer. I don't know that I commented on many of your posts then or now.

Other than knowing that I remember you from last summer, I'm not sure what to tell you about myself. I'm pretty much just me.

I don't know you . I am paranoid and don't talk to shadows!  Danger,Will Robinson, danger, danger!! lol   You like those Star - Trek spin offs??  Why such a n ugly cuss though?

I don't know you.  I'm an illiterate snarkmistress. I don't bite too hard, though.

I'm new, in real life shy and quiet, still finding my feet in sc.

Silverwhisper (Ed), you know I love ya’

Uniquely-Ironic, I’ve been posting since 2006, back then I was “Uniquely prolific.”

Zayda, I remember you too, and being yourself is great.  Don’t ever  let anyone tell you differently.

Rupert, I’m not sure I know you either, but I will try to change that in the future.  As too star trek, that is a handle that was thrust upon me, but I came to embrace it, and make it my own.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  Have you ever looked at Japanese samurai warrior armor? It’s lovely.  One more thing, when I got that handle I was more than a bit of a rebel; I was pretty much out of control.  That’s the past though, now days it’s about honor, respect (for self and others), and trying to leave this place better than it was when I found it.

Eilan, I’m not quite sure how to respond, so I don’t think I will except to say, you’re obviously not shy, and I love ya’. keep writing.

Imladris, Just be yourself.  No one, although people will try, can ever fault you for being true to yourself.

    Peace and Long Life guys

I've only been here since May, and I only just saw a comment from you the other day. So we've never met! But let's see, something about me? Well, I'm a romantic sort of guy who just got engaged. My fiancee also blogs here under the name 'nursecutie'. Maybe we'll see you around? :-)

Hello, I have seen some of your posts and didn't comment. It's the name that catches my interest, every time! I think you must be an interesting person but am sure we would have nothing in common! I am foolish, gullible, and tired of being pushed around. My kids are my priority and sometimes have interesting tales to tell about the ex and his Mom- LOL

Hello Worf, I dont think we've met before, but there's always a first time.  I'm in the UK originally from South Africa.  Married and have a 3 year old son.  I recently started working full time in London.  Hope to see more of you around here :-)

    Hi All,

I guess it’s only right that I tell you something of myself.  There are very few people I don’t like, and Boyzmom, don’t be so sure we have nothing in common; we al have a common ground even if it’s just being human. Gingersoul, I too like red wine.  Unfortunately, I like it just a little too much, I too love poetry especially Shakespeare’s sonnets.  Evil-twin, I have to tell you that I love that name, when I cam back to soulcast I saw your name and keyed on it immediately.  Polarheart, I know you I’ve read some of your stuff. Mirrorimage, no, I don’t believe we’ve ever met, hi :)

As for myself, aside from the “American Republican” thing at the top, I’m a musician, a drug counselor, and, God willing, a soon to be priest.  I am 100% American of colour.  My family has been here more generations than I can count, and I can count 6.  I’m always looking for the common ground that connects us all as one people, human.  I try to be open to new ideas, and new ways of thinking.  Of course, it was not always this way; for a minute it was up in the air as to whether I would even survive to be as old as I am ( they don’t call me Worf for nothing).  From my late teens to late thirties I was, for all intents and purposes, a hoodlum, and a drug addict, hence my love of red wine, or any other wine. It’s been a pleasure meeting you guys. Don’t be strangers.  Peace and Long Life

So you're a drug counselor, my sister used to talk to me about her counseling when she first started and I had no clue how all this was 'helping' her but then I tried to use those same questions and tactics on my ex-husband, as if it would help him be clean and sober! I admit I am clueless about the addiction thing and not the most sympathetic person when people neglect their children because of it but I do want to help, so maybe that is what we have in common. Maybe you could help me see opportunities to help my sister, or even my ex-husband (when he is not in jail).

Worf - I have not been on SC long - 4 months maybe?  I enjoyed reading your paragraph on the days leading up to now.  My daddy was a preacher too.  ('', )   I'd like to hear more about the "soon to be priest".  Looking forward to getting to know you.
As for me, I'm in my 30's, divorced mother of 2 boys, I teach small children as my day job, and I'm engaged to a good man.
  • LtCmdrWorf1 said on Jul 30, 2007....

Boyzmom, Yes, I' a drug counselor.  I can tell you from experience that the only way someone will stop is of they want to.  They have to hit the rock bottom.  My rockbottom? I had gotten away with so much for so long I thought I was untouchable.  Then the NYPD came knocking at my door, and took me straight to jail.  for me, that was sobering.  It forced home the fact that my way was not working.  It was time to try someting new.  I have totell you that if I new that being sober was this good i would have tried it a long time ago, but who knew?

Fearing, Every now andthen you will get a glimmer of the theologian's voyage of self discovery.  Hopefully, one day soon that wil lead to ordination.  Peace and Long Life.

    Love Worf

I've been at SC since early Dec. '07 and today is the first time I've ever seen a comment from you on another post.  The name intrigued me, so I came reading.

    Gracefully Growing,

I've been posting here since '06.  I enjoy writing, and reading other peoples thoughts on different matters. Today is the first time I've ever been block on SC, but the person who did it is a blowhard.  He has no real argument just a rant, so I called him on it.  I don't think he appreciated that.  Peace and Long LIfe
