As a photographer of landscapes, my approach is to find beautiful moments in nature or attractive arrangements of natural elements and abstract those that arrangement using the dimensions of the camera view finder and the film. I love flying because I can look down on the shape of the landscape and see it from a different view. Often the stories of the earth become revealed from the air and we can see how sedimentary rock has been folded, how the wind has blown sand across a landscape, how glaciers have scoured the mountains, how water has cut canyons and valleys into the hills, or how volcanoes have pumped lava over a landscape.
Playing with GoogleEarth allows me to explore the geography and geomorphy of the earth and since don't have the ability to actually see these landscapes with my own eyes, I have to rely on GoogleEarth technology to capture landscapes that interest me. I zoom in and rotate and save images of places that have nice patterns. Then on my computer I crop the images and saturate the colours and little. All original images are copyright of GoogleEarth and I suppose they retain rights to the altered images as well. So I'll give them full credit for that, no question. Nevertheless, take a look at what amazing things I have found while roaming the planet via GoogleEarth.
