Watching the news here and this family is attempting for a Year to live No Impact(No lights that aren't solar Panely induced,no food with packaging(produces waste),no cabs or Carbon inducing immissions, no toilet paper(Trees being cut down) you know the whole enviornment friendly piece, no t.v. or newspapers. Dude how do you go without toilet paper?

With all the trash on t.v. lately we could probably do without it, but could I walk 9 flights of steps back and forth just not to use an elevator? Ride a scooter to work over 30 blocks just not to use a car. Walk in the rain with a toddler just to prevent what the rest of millions are doing(Polluting the air and ruining the earth?  I don't know? The no toilet paper thing got me. Is their even an alturnitive to toilet paper? I commend Low impact man and family.
My inlaws are eco-friendly. They grow their own veggies come summer, herbs all year round, have a compost pile that they are teaching my kids about but I guess they draw the line somewhere.

If you had to choose What could you NOT live without if you had to live this way of life? If you had to live eco friendly where would you draw the line? What ever the choice it's not easy living GREEN!

giving up toilet paper? Nah... I couldn't do that! What would you use? In the area that I live in, going without a vehicle is out of the question. I have an SUV, I could give that up for a car as long as it was all wheel drive but it isn't uncommon to live 20 minutes (driving) from a grocery store...so I wouldn't be able to go without a vehicle. Now that I am thinking about it... there are few things I could go without. I would try it...but I wouldn't like it.

OK, i completely don't get the concept of not using TP. seriously. i guess in light of queen's comment that means i'm a product of my culture.

if we could, i'm sure the mrs would probably have a small vegetable garden: she's nuts for tomatoes during the summer. we actually went to 2 farmers markets on sunday and found a massive bunch of basil on the cheap so we've got tons of pesto sitting in the fridge--oo, maybe we'll do that for dinner tonight!
