Boy, am I certainly not surprised to see fear-mongering from the moron...

http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=56687

In spite of his allegedly non-alarmist intentions, Chuck Norris is still trying to scare us all--just like all the other neocons these days--and it's not working.  I can't speak for everyone in this country, but I, for one, am done.  I'm done being scared, I'm done panicking, and I'm way past done with a stupidly executed, pathetic excuse for a war that has actually cost us more money and more people than we lost in the last attack on the World Trade Center.

This is not the 1980s, Norris.  We're not in a cold war--we're in a reckless, unnecessary and unjust war.  It's reckless, unnecessary and unjust for many reasons, but one that I've recently come to understand is actually very simple.

And that reason is this: we don't go to war with people who actually have nukes, you dumbass!

If we did, we probably would have bitch-slapped North Korea a long time ago.

But we don't, because we're not stupid.  Nuclear weapons are extremely dangerous to all life-forms and incredibly hazardous to our already fragile environment.  To declare war on any nation with nuclear weaponry is to give said nation an opportunity to either launch said weaponry at us, or to turn a potential war situation into a hostage situation (using, say, a neighboring country as a target, or threatening to ethnically cleanse their minority groups).  And hostage situations are even more difficult than war situations, because the latter do not require either side to be polite--and the former requires extreme amounts of politeness, unless both sides are willing to live with a potential genocide on their consciences.

Hence, Kim Jong-Il and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad get finger-wagged for having or developing nukes--and countries that don't have nukes, like Iraq, get invaded for who-the-hell-knows-how-long.

As a Jew, I would like to say that I'm also done with genocide--which is what this whole clusterf--k is becoming...

But, see, it's a reckless, unnecessary and unjust clusterf--k because we did not go into Iraq championing protecting the Iraqis or the Kurds.  We didn't give nearly as much of a rat's ass about the Iraqis or the Kurds as we did about our own hysterical selves.  Dick "Penguin" Cheney, George "Clueless Leader" Bush, Donald "Skeletor" Rumsfeld and several others are on record as having vehemently insisted that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction--and, if those al-Qaida butchers had the utter audacity to drive our own planes into our own buildings, heaven forefend the Iraqis should use said weapons on us...

Problem?  There weren't any weapons of mass destruction.  Seriously.  None.  No nukes.  No yellow-cake.  It's been six goddamn years, and the only stuff that was found was handful of mustard gas cannisters that might have been life-threatening a decade ago, but now would only cause a frickin' skin rash if one did not wash off the powder.

Oh, the itchiness...

See, my understanding is, if a country like Iraq (which wasn't exactly utopia to begin with) has no weapons of mass destruction, has not attacked us or our allies, and might possibly have very tenuous, loose, and extremely questionable "connections" to people who actually did attack us--and far less weighty connections than we had with them, ourselves--why the hell are we still there?!

That's a legitimate question, folks.  It's a question that has been repeatedly asked, only to receive multiple changing answers.  And it's a question that Chuck Norris flat-out ignores--especially given that his own brother lost his life in Vietnam, because Lyndon B. Johnson wanted to start up his own little protectorate there.

So, as I read Norris' little list of things we can do to stop the Terrorists(tm), I am not ashamed to say that I laughed.  Out loud.  At the sheer echo-chamber quality of his "article" as well as at the hypocrisy of this old man's ideas about how to fight a land war when he spent most of his Korean and Vietnam days in the goddamn Air Force.

If this moron expects upstanding citizens like me to join our current military jihad and risk sacrificing my life for his goddamn peace of mind or to appease the rotten, hollowed-out Molochs of this administration--or if he expects me to rat on my bosses, co-workers or neighbors without just cause--or if he expects me to buy into the 1984-ist notion that "freedom is not free"--he's got another thing coming.

Because I may be irritating, mean, and completely frickin' irreverent, but I am not stupid.  And I can tell scare tactics and self-important bollocks when I see it.

My name is BlueHotRage.  I appreciate my country deeply, although I wish some of my fellow Americans would chill out, I deny the divinity and the existence of any of the Holy Spirit(s), and I am not afraid.

Because that's exactly what the terrorists want--they want us to be absolutely hysterical with fear--and damn if I'm going to let those punkasses scare me into not travelling the world, not taking public transportation, and not enjoying my movie-theater experience so I can instead lock myself in my apartment with duct-taped windows.

Which, by the way, totally doesn't help one iota!

Homeland security, my ass.

Awesome post!  I'm sorry I only now read it.

Believe it or not I have not paid any attention to what this Chuck Norris stuff is all about.  I have only inferred that he is apparently spouting some kind of macho ultra-conservative drivel from the reactions I've seen.  Actually, I don't even care to find out what he's all about.  Is that OK?

That's why I write about it.  I read the ultra-conservative drivel, so you don't have to.
