  • quietone said on Jul 17, 2007....
I think its as good as eating spagettio's out of the can with your grandkids!!  nothing like it!  :)  I agree.
  • Zayda said on Jul 17, 2007....
u-i: you are so right, because for no one else would i ever eat chicken noddle soup.

silver: i'm still the same person. :P

quietone: you know i haven't had spagettio's straight out of the can in some time. but yes, i can see how that ranks right up there.

bloc: that entirely depends on the 5-year old. ;P
  • silverwhisper said on Jul 17, 2007....
you can't be the same person if you're eating chicken noodle soup!

    impostor!

Hey, I like chicken noodle soup!  And would trade places with you in a heartbeat to eat it with my son when he was little just once more... I think this is a great post, if only because it reminds me of those wonderful days.... Thanks, Zayda!
  • Zayda said on Jul 17, 2007....
silver: even i will eat chicken soup at the little man's asking. i wouldn't eat it for anyone else though, not even you. *blech*. and luckily that is the only can we had in the house and i am not likely to buy any for at least a month or two more. :)

ahhh...wombie...those days are indeed wonderful. there's just something about listening to him slurp noodles as loudly as he can and then giggling. (i wouldn't let him do that in public mind you...well, not much.)
  • wombat said on Jul 17, 2007....
Kids often have the inhibitions that we wish we had...(and still do, somewhere in there, maybe?)  They just bring it out and surprise us.
  • botoni said on Jul 17, 2007....
My favorite kid recipe is a bowl full of spaghetti with sauce. The secret is to sit on the lawn in our bathing suits and eat it with no utensils. We then follow up with a hose free for all. Kids loved it and grandkids are discovering it.
  • Lioness said on Jul 17, 2007....
Awwww.. Yummy... why do young kids get away with slurping and I don't? I'm jealous. =)
  • Zayda said on Jul 17, 2007....
yes, wombie, they do bring it out in us.

hmmm...botoni...maybe we'll try spaghetti in the yard with no utensils next week. or maybe i'll simply bring the little man for a visit and we can do spaghetti with no utensils with you. although the idea of spaghetti in my bikini makes me a bit squirmy. :P

lioness: i know. i'm jealous too. why can't i get away with slurping. ;)
