I don't have problems to adapt myself to a new place, maybe because I was born in a state, grow up in another one and I'm now living in a third one. But my wife (like most people where we live) has serious restrictions in move to another place, mainly if it's too far. We live where she was born and her parents, uncles and aunts all live here. And it's a really big family: she has more than 60 cousins (really sons and daughters of her uncles and aunts). She has also a brother and a sister living here. My point of view if obviously different, because I'm already 3000km far from my parents, brother, sister, etc. Being more 10000km away is not a big deal for me, but moving from maybe 10km to 13000km is a really big deal for my wife. Not only the physical distance worries her, also the cultural difference and the life style change. All that we have here will be left behind us and it will be a fresh start. Not completely, especially for me, because my work experience will be valuable in any new country and I think I can find a new job in my current area (IT). But for her it will be much more difficult, because she's a psychologist and her clinic and the clients she have with all references to new clients will be lost. What I want in a new country is a better life, with more good work opportunities, a slower life pace, with money to do some things I want, but that we will wait a long time to reach with our current earnings. I also want to give to my daughter and my second son or daughter (we don't know yet) more open doors in their lives. More than I had. I don't know... I have to face this dilemma now, and I’m not even sure that moving will be the best choice for us. Maybe moving we'll lose many things and will not gain anything really valuable. If we moved 5 or 10 years in the past, the decision would be a lot easier.
