Everyone seems to be quite preoccupied with the whole AdSense thing on this site. Does anyone really make money from two cents per click? It seems preposterous that anyone can look to this as an income source. I signed up for a blog because I have so much running through my head all the time I needed to find an outlet, and why not choose an outlet with EP? I'd love to hear from y'all about AdSense success stories...or horror stories...I'm not that particular. IPJ

I'd just stick to it for fun! Even with people viewing and commenting on my blogs, my adsense account stands at a fraction of a penny. Good thing I'm just in this for fun, too!

I was wondering the very same thing. I've been blogging for a few days and have yet to see anyone click, unless I'm not understanding any of it and doing it all wrong.

I've only gotten one click myself, which got me three whole cents! Ka-ching!

I just busted a dollar and I have been at this for over a week. They will not send anything until you hit 50 or 100 dollars (or something like that). I clicked on an ad on Blatherskite's page. That is probably what triggered his three cents, I guess. I have started clicking on ads more when I view pages. I forget to do that. Think about it. Members have to click on other members ads ads or nothing happens. I just told Blather that viewing someone's blog page does not even register a view. That only seems to happen when you click the title and actually view the post. I could read everything someone has written without triggering a view. It is kind of sad to see new bloggers come online and expect to really make some money. I am afraid our Indian friends think it is really possible to knock down some big American bucks. Maybe they can at least learn better English, which might help them to make money in the real world. That is my three cents worth. Write on.

Tha'ts right. Not all makes money. As ALIEnated said all of us should click on ads. No matter how much you "blog' it's the click number that counts.Do agree, this also gives us a chance to "vent out"!

I was thinking the samething tonight. I told my coworker, who happens to write quite often, about soulcast and the ability to sign up for adsense along with it to earn extra cash. But the only way anyone is going to make money is if each member makes a committment to click on the ads from fellow soulcast members when you read or comment on their blogs.
• cricketsoda said on Jul 22, 2006....
You really have to build up a base of readers. I make money with adsense from my other website, but I get around 10,000 readers a day. Its still pretty hard to get those type of numbers on this site. Maybe once the membership levels go up, and everyone is trying to network to promote thier blogs, you will have better success.
• hotaka said on Jul 22, 2006....
The people who used to read my blogs have mostly left. I play the Soulcast game just for the fun of interacting with people I will never meet but enjoy "talking" too. This is not a business investment.

i guess i made the most, 7 or so dollars, obviously that's not any real money(especially if you consider ONLY the genuine clicks, hee hee) i hve abandoned the idea that i am EVER going to make any real money from this site, i just hang around for the good and not so good people, and because i get an outlet for expression...

google will take action against you for fraudulent clicks.

Shall we help each other out?
• techwins said on Jul 23, 2006....
I've been clicking on at least one ad from each blog I open up. I hope other people start up this sort of action.
• InterplanetJanet said on Jul 24, 2006....
Well, tech, that is a great idea. Clicking others ads is not a violation of the terms of use, so it is a good way to help out fellow bloggers. Plus, it is not a competition (i.e., only the user with the most clicks gets paid), so everyone should click with reckless abandon and hope that the favor will be returned (you know, like the Golden Rule...).

After almost 3 years of web development and just one successful adsense site, I've found that yes it is possible to make money with adsense. Am currently making about £450($675) per month. However it's not easy and take's four essential ingredients: 1) Perseverence - keep writing and writing and writing - don't give up, it doesn't happen over night. My successful site has over 4000pages of content. 2) Community Involvement - Get involved with topics related to your own, reply to other people's posts with a link back to your own blogs(BUT DO NOT SPAM!) 3) Original content - don't write what's already been written a thousand times before. Create a niche for yourself, but on somethign people want to read about. 4) A well designed adsense-friendly site. No need to worry about this if using Soulcast.

I see ads on this blog... No one else can see the ads?! That would be about par for the course today. I signed up for adsense (violating my cardinal rule of disclosing my SSN over the 'net). Oh well, I am enjoying this as an outlet to write about my feelings (oh how banal I sound); I don't think I am in it for the money. I originally thought it would be cool to earn a few bucks while venting my emotions, but if the universe wants to deny me those few bucks, I'll get by. Maybe I should terminate my adsense account, then everyone would probably read my blog and click on the ads (Murphy's Law, you know).

I'm new to this site, just signed up today. And yes the make money ad got me here. In fact the ad was on one of my sites so I pointed to the ad to get the address then typed it in. Thus not to upset the GooglePlex. I make money on adsense but I have many sites. Some earn a few dollars a month some earn much more. Besides having many sites or pages another stategy to increase earnings is to choose topics that are extremely popular which could lead to more traffic. More traffic more clicks more money. Another method is to figure out which keywords advertisers are paying more money per click. Clicks cost advertisers from $0.02 to $50.00. Granted not many at the high end of that but their are many keywords that bring in the $0.25 - $0.50 range. I am an advertiser myself and typically pay between $0.10 and $0.30 per click. Google is very secretive on the actual revenue share they pay but it is in the 70%-80% range. One way you can reseach profitable topics/keywords is to setup an adwords account with google but you would need a website to promote and I think $5.00 to open the account. Of course you could promote one of my sites LOL or anyone elses for that matter for research purposes. However you will do better blogging about a topic you are passionate about and would enjoy regardless of the money. But no matter what is your passion you can find a way to weave in a few money words here and there.

If you are serious enough to make internet blogging a rewarding profession, the way to do it is to spread all of your blogs to as many AdSense related blog sites as possible. The more blog sites you maintain increases your potentials of getting more AdSense clicks. Another such similar AdSense blogger friendly site is ||{1}||

Don't fool the Adsense program. They don't spend their own money, they spend the money of the advertisers, taking some part. So, if you start clicking on each others' ads, Google will just win, but may be you as advertiser or your relative will spend money on the wind. That's bad. Click only when you're interested.
• anonymous said on Aug 19, 2008....
My grand total, about forty bucks in one month, with a couple hundred readers. I think it's more important to concentrate on promoting your blog and building a solid readership base rather than trying to find a way around the adsense program. Think about it, of course they're only going to pay you a few cents a click because how many people actually go through with whatever the offer is? Yukko is right, if you click fraudulently or too often then it drives up the price for the advertisers and then the consumers (us). That being said, I do like the Golden Rule approach, whenever I visit a blog I always try to find an ad that I find interested, kind of like shopping, in order to support fellow bloggers. Also, what are the rules to determine whether a click is fraudulent or not? Too many from one IP? Well what if one of your readers is a compulsive ad reader (cause there are so many)? What if someone is trying to support your blog by clicking ads and then stumbles across something they are interested in purchasing? Like Impulse buying. What if YOU see an ad on your blog that piques your interest. I know that I have not clicked on ads on my site that I normally would have for fear that google might penalize me. Isn't that counter intuitive? I think Google should set a fixed payment per click (10 cents, lets say) based on an analysis of their ad profits, and then honor all clicks (except excessive ones from your IP). The problem is that the whole system is completely subjective. No one can make any "adsense" out of it. Har har. One things for sure though, if you try to rip them off, they'll probably catch you.
