After reading of a man who was sentenced to 6 months in jail, suspended all but 10 days for refusing to spend another day in court for jury duty, I tend to beleive people want a system thats fair until they have to serve. Actions do speak louder then words. (This was a second-degree murder trial)
Do you think this guy has his voter registration card up to date? The judge says this is about the most defiant juror he's ever seen. “He said, ‘I know you’re a judge and I’m going to be frank. I’m not going to come back tomorrow,’” He told the judge he would rather spend time in jail than return for another day of jury duty.
(what do you think of a person with those standards?)
I've never had to serve jury duty but Ive heard how painstaking it is to sit through court all day or in a room until they call you. Why would one nag about that if they're there to see justice being served? If you've served on jury duty, care to write about it? If so, do the courts even check your voter cards? What was your experience while serving?
