Honestly I'm not sure what the fuck I think about this situation. I'll be honest I don't condone sex with children and I think we need to have laws to protect our children. At the same time I think as far as sex goes we need to consider them adults very near the time they go through puberty. I don't care that we are hitting puburty younger and younger due to a variety of stimuli, diet and health issues. It just means we need to educate sooner and more efficiantly. Still laws and laws and everybody should abide by them.
I've also said in many cases that I would prefer to have police men patroling the streets protecting us from other criminals than doing dateline stings. I'm sorry when a sixteen year old waits until their parents leave the house and then invite strangers over to their home so long as they survive they got what they deserved. I can't pity these people, they put themselves into a position like this that even the most basic internet safeties would have avoided. Hell even adults should know that when you meet somebody over the net you don't go to their home or invite them to yours for a first meeting. You go to a public place and bring along a couple of friends. Will this protect you from everything, no but at that you've taken precautions.
On the other hand this guy was a law breaker, he was an idiot and scum for going to a child's house knowing (believing) that the parents weren't going to be around and obviously going behind their backs. He didn't even have the conviction, strength, balls call it what you want to live with the decision that he'd made and for that I have no pity for him whatsoever. If there is a Hell he's likely to be in it, if there isn't a hell then at least he saved tax payers some money.
