Seriously.

I was thinking about this as I was surfing my Forum. My av is decidedly feminine. I like it that way because I am unrepentantly feminine.
I adore being female. Sure, those nasty monthly cramps suck, but all in all. I don't ever wish I was a guy. Ever.

So what about you. Do you like being who you are gender wise?

yes.. i enjoy all the girly stuff! i mean though i dont have a penis i still get to wear what guys wear right like jeans... but guys cant wear skirts... well unless they are from scotland!

i love ribbons and laces... i cant imagine a guy wearing laced briefs...though women can have womens brief...

those are the simple reasons why i love being the gender that i have...

    I love being a women.

Although, I hate menstrating.  Hate it.  Seriously.

Apart from that, being a woman is great.  And D6fer, having a "creature coming out of your crotch" isn't as bad as it sounds.  Don't get me wrong, it hurts like hell, but as soon as the baby comes out, all the labour pains are gone.

Weirdly enough I can see the "pro"s for both sides.

I like being female.  I can be as feminine as I want, and I can do "man" things too.  (okay, I can't do the shaving the face thing)  I'm lucky to be born in a time where if I want to work with power tools it's permitted, but can go home and throw on a slinky dress for a nice dinner out.  It would much harder to be a guy with decidedly feminine tendancies.

I don't want to be a man.  As a rule, I dislike men, though I certainly make exceptions.
  • Alyss said on Jun 29, 2007....
Truthfully I've never thought about it before.  It seems to me that there are advantages & disadvantages to either gender but I am used to being female & can't imagine being male.
  • beyondtheveil said on Jun 29, 2007....
lady- I have never wished to be female but if I came back in another life, I'd want to try female- so long as it wasn't any country under Islam, China, India, or a number of other countries I can think of.

eilan- As a rule, I have never respected men throughout history to this day as a gender. But like you, I make exceptions- many in fact.

I LOVE being a woman. Wouldn't ever wish to be a guy.
    I'm a true girly-girl, anything sparkly,glittery, pink, elegant,
    lace, satin, tiaras etc.
And that line about creatures??? Let me tell you, there is
NOTHING like the feeling of carrying new life within you. It's
a feeling like no other I could ever describe.I loved being
pregnant and having my kids. It was a very down-to-earth,
    awe-inspiring thing.
Oh yeah, and I Love having boobs!!! heeheehee

Sometimes I certainly would like to be a guy.  Some of my traits are guy related, like it seems guys are better at being solitary, not so moody I would think, can eat anything they want and burn it off easily, won't be questioned if they like cars, things that blow up, video games and the military, are never uncomfortable one week a month and they can take 5 minute showers and not have to worry about their hair.  Plus if they walk down the street they don't attract unwanted attention, or I guess most the time.  Those are the things I'm jealous of.  On the other hand I'd miss my pretty skirts, dresses and shiny sparkly things, oh yes and getting free things or getting away with stuff more often is nice.  I do like being on the prettier side of the species too.  Ok sometimes it is wanted attention, thats fun too.  Thats a tough one for me!
  • lfbno7 said on Jun 29, 2007....
kudos to anyone who said the unexpected.  it's a loaded question because you open yourself up to being called a transsexual or a homo.  there's only one right and decent answer, isn't there?  you'd rather be your current gender.  personally i've had enough of being me.  been me for 56 years.  the first 20 were fun.  the rest .... ehh.  i think i'd rather be a bird or a squirrel.  rather be an owl.  rather be a girl.  rather be a tree in a nice warm climate.  i really had enough of this.  tomorrow, more of the same.  whoopee.  what do you have to look forward to?  getting really old so you can hardly walk anymore, getting sick, going to the doctor and getting stuck with needles, getting hospitalized.  yippee life is so fun.  i'm ready for a change.  you know what i'd really rather be?  i'd give everything i have to be called back home by the one who put me here.  why do people cry at funerals?  they should celebrate the graduation.  your troubles are over baby and the fun starts now.  but we have our jobs to do, our people to support, right?  man your sentry post, soldier, you got a kid to put through college, you got a wife to put through life.  have fun while you can.  enjoy your day.
  • Nowteam said on Jun 29, 2007....
Yes, I am glad to be me. I really feel sorry for people who feel like they would like to be the opposite gender..Ifbno7 painted a sad picture of life itself. Did he not? Why not paint a new picture filled with some of the things you wanted to do that you have not done yet? It's up to you. Take a moment and look at what you laid out as your plan (vision) for your life. You will bring that about. Personally I want death to caught me right in the middle of living my life to the fullest.
  • carmachu said on Jun 29, 2007....

Why would I open myself up to that Ifbno7?

I doubt ed or LG are going to laugh when I say I can see the lure, or perhaps wonder at oner or two things.....And usually anyoen else's opinion is unimportant if I dont consider them a friend...

  • the_infernal_optimist said on Jun 29, 2007....
Although I can see certain advantages to being a guy, I don't think I'd want to be me in a guy's body, if that makes sense. Being hypersensitive and irrationally emotional at times...eh, it's sad but our society still doesn't really attribute things like that to normal guy behavior. *I* don't have a problem with guys like that, fwiw.

And there is the whole "no period" thing...mine knocks me on my ass every time, and it'd be nice not to have to struggle through a week out of every month, for sure! (Then again, I'd have to deal with my partner, assuming I was still heterosexual, and knowing how bad I can get, I don't envy the guys there at all!)

I think being able to give birth is a blessing overall, though pregnancy feels like more of a curse at the end (again, IMO).

I'm not a girly-girl, and it seems that guys have it easier appearance-wise, given that there aren't many expectations other than that they be clean and reasonably well-dressed. No makeup, no real "fixing" the hair (though I know some guys who spend way too much time in front of a mirror), etc. ...It just seems to me that it's more acceptable for guys to just be themselves at times. Not being a guy, though, I can't say that with any certainty. It's probably largely perception.

So while I'm glad I'm female, I can kind of see the other side. I wouldn't change, given the chance, and haven't ever wished I was male.

i've always liked being a regular guy, and i play my masculine role to the hilt (get that, ladies? *to the hilt*) as needed. but i've imagined often enough how it might be like for me to be a woman -- but still loving another woman. i think i'd like to be a lesbian every now and then. yes indeed. i'd like to touch the core of my feminine side. my ultimate fantasy in fact ... ;-)

  • mom said on Jun 29, 2007....

  • LadyGamer said on Jun 29, 2007....
This was a straight question. I do not ask questions to lure people into traps. Shame on anyone who would do that.
That some people feel uncomfortable in their gender is NOT a new or alien concept to me. Nor do I think they should be ridiculed.
  • blastfromthepast said on Jun 29, 2007....
I only know what it's like to be one gender, and yes, I quite like it, thank you.
  • PassionTraveler said on Jun 30, 2007....
Being a woman in this era definitely has its perks. But even though I'm all woman, I have a tremendous number of masculine qualities (I look feminine so none are related to appearance).

I see the benefits of both sexes. I enjoy being a woman most of the time. But I'm an equal opportunity speculator and say I'd like to have a try at both sexes, coming back as a man in my next life. BUT only assuming I get to try all of the aspects of being a woman in this one first. I still have a few milestones left.
