So, what was the first car you ever owned?
Mine was a 1978 Chevrolet Chevette. It was red, so you could coin a song "little red chevette". Heh. Some people even call it a "shove-it".
I was a teenager and I got to choose between it and some big blue bomber of a car. No, literally it was blue and blue smoke came out of its tailpipe. I probably should have bought it, though, but I've always had a soft spot in my heart for small cars.
The Chevette lasted about three months before it blew its piston rings. And what a great three months it was!
But still, I bought a ring kit for the car that I never ended up installing. One reason was the lack of tools. The car had a mix of metric and standard and too many of the bolts were rusted to the car. Another reason was just pure sloth.
That car stayed at my parents' house for about ten years with half of the engine torn out before someone finally took it away.

my first car was a saturn SL2 that only later earned the name "roxie". she had attitude, she had spunk and she was fun. i was very proud of getting her paid off in 2 years. :>

Mine was a Chrysler (?) Starfire. It was a hatchback and the hatch was nearly rusted out. I patched it up myself, and it held for the couple of years I owned it. It also had something in the transmission that was bent, and made a lot of noise, but it never affected the performance. I loved the big engine and sunroof. It also had rear wheel drive, which is tons of fun. -
