thats what my family says too, if i have a demi moore type hair cut (like in ghost) in january by december it will be one length brushing on my shoulders...
When I met my husband he told me he loved long hair. So I grew it out for him and loved it myself. He actually joked that cutting it was grounds for divorce lol
Then it got so long it was down almost to my bum. I still loved it, though it was a lot of work because I have super thick hair and lots of it. I swear I have enough for two people and a child.
But then people would come up to me, people I didn't know, and touch it and say how beautiful it was. And usually in an elevator where there was no escape, and lots of old ladies that had super short hair, and it was just weird. So because of that, and the time I had to allot for upkeep, and the fact that I was constantly screwing up the vaccuum with the hair I shed, I decided to cut it.
I cut it to mid back length, and cried. Then a year later I cut it so it was about 1/4 of the way down my back. Then last year I let my girlfriend cut it and she totally messed it up, and it was to my shoulders. I was mortified.
I like long hair, on me, anyways.
i've had mine on the long side most of my life.
now it's in layers...past my shoulders about 2 inches.
Eilan - I think it's great that you found a place to donate your hair.
SW - It's very apparent to me that you would love your wife however she wore her hair. That's so sweet.
Zayda - So you're one of the adventurous ones.
Infernal - Very short hair is very easy, but few can pull it off. It's nice that you defer to your hubby.
fearing - There are advantages to having long hair that you can just toss into a ponytail and such. A deal breaker? Common, there are more important things.
missb - It's important that you wear it however you feel most feminine, and if the man in your life enjoys it that way too it's a good bonus.
allswell - I wouldn't put to much weight behind his opinion. He obviously has issues and prejudices with you dating anyway.
Sarafina - Very long hair is unusual, so I'm sure people did comment. My daughters was at bum length until about a year ago and she would always get comments.
SL - Layers seem to be the most popular way to wear hair these days. It does add "lift".
Okay, I'm going to post the before and after, I'm just having a technical difficulty. Hopefully I'll figure it out before too long.
Okay, I'm still having problems with my camera, but I did manage to find a really bad picture of the new haircut.
The first photo is of me in April, with hair that is well past my shoulders.
This is my new haircut that I got last weekend. I know it's hard to see, but the layers you can see are the longest and sit at about shoulder level. The rest is in shorter "just rolled out of bed" toussled layers around my face.
