So today is payday.  I check my paystub and it is still at 8.50.  What the heck.  So here is the story.  about 2 months ago, I got an evaluation then I got written up twice for some dumb stuff.  Sooo.. they tell me i am on prohbation and I will get my raise in 30 days.  Well its been over that and I go to my boss today to ask her about it and she feeds me a bunch of bologna about how she forgot.  I am angry.  I am planning on leavinng today if necessary.  What should I do??

    go to your boss and tell her you that you expect to be compensated for the days from when your raise should have gone into effect.

    figure it out exactly, so you know.

    it's never good to do anything out of anger...

    take a few deep breaths, have the conversation with her, and see where that gets you.  hopefully she will have it resolved by next payday.

    Take a chill pill...
    I know it's unexcusable, but this happens a lot in companies.
    I agree with secretlife, document when you should  have rec'd
    your increase, date should be on your review, and compare it
    when you see your increase.
    Getting mad and ranting and raving only makes you look like
    an idiot.
    Note, this  even happens to managers ...

    If you can do it calmly and with poise you might ask when you can expect a check for the difference.

    Most companies do not do their own payroll anymore,
    it's farmed out,  so you may have to wait up to a week
    for the additional amount to show up.
    The common responce is, "you'll see it on your next check."
    but if it was their check short, it would be a whole different
    matter...

    NEVER NEVER NEVER  Confront a boss unless you have that persons balls in your pocket..( metaphorically speaking).

     

    Don't threaten to quit..poof you are gone. As nicely that this oversight be rectified as soon as possible. Write a KIND memo to this person..thanking them for the time to consider your problem and remind them that they had made the commitment some time ago and was an oversight.

     

    You save the job, super saves face and you get the results you wanted plus have a written record of the exchange.
