So Soulcasters, who is your favorite rock band? What type of music can you just sit back chill out and remember old times? There are certain songs that remind me when I was a teen, a stone head kid getting high in concerts, brings back good memories, of old friends, now who knows where they are, most of my life I've spent like a rolling stone. Moving from city to city, living in many states, never too long in one place, a drifter am I.

A true cruiser, who has never had a job longer then three years! Hey I take no shit from anyone! Period.

My favorite rock bands are (Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin & Rush) of those three I've only seen Rush live. On my external hard drive 7gigs of rock tunes. Too bad Napster and WinMX whent out of business, of downloading for free music. I've got a collection of over 300 CD's
mostly rock tunes, but the one artist I have the most CD's from is Pink Floyd. I think I've got everything they ever put out! When Roger Waters made his last album "The Final Cut" I got it! When band members asked about making another album, I thought to myself, hey don't they get it??? Of course Roger Waters turned them down.

I wrote a thesis in a junior college "community college of Oklahoma City" about "Dark Side of the Moon"

So who's your favorite artist/rock band?

Those are my only two that I have the alert set for on the XM.  The only two that I'll change the channel for no matter what's on at the moment.  But, I like lots of bands.

Siouxsie and the Banshees, a little Aerosmith, any new wave, Mary J. Blige, Aaliyah, Rihanna, Evanescence, Maroon 5, Jackalope, Hillary Duff, Pink, Beth Orton, Gretchen Wilson, Shania Twain, etc.  I am a fan of all music except for hardcore rap but don't mind Easy-E as a joke. It was funny.  He was just joking around about sex.  Eminem is serious.  I don't get the lack of media responsibility surrounding his material.

Damn that's great everyone, that participated. The kind of music one listen to can somewhat determine age gaps. I noticed Zayda mentioned CCR. That's cool, I like them too, though never saw them in concert.

    Bands I've seen in concert:

    Rush
    Jethro Tull (2)
    AC/DC (2)
    Aerosmith
    Triumph
    Scorpions
Black Sabbath (2) once with Ozzy and the other with Deo
    Journey (alternate singer)
    Deep Purple
    Alan Parson Project
    Bad Company
    Blue Oyster Cult
    Blues Travelers
    Cheap Trick
    Dave Mathews Band
    Foreigner
    Guns & Roses
    Moody Blues..

I'm sure I saw more, but my teen years where all dazed and confused!! LOL
Many of those bands came in pairs, other events where @ an air force base two day show, two bands per day.

Dave Mathews, Blue Travelers, Clannad, Lenny Kravits  I saw them when they where starting out, in a college campus  concert!  Way cool.

Not technically a rock band, I suppose, but my all-time favorite band is Fleetwood Mac, particularly the pre-Buckingham/Nicks incarnations.  I like Stevie Nicks well enough, but I'll take Christine McVie over Stevie any day.

My favorites are Nirvana and Metallica. No question. I love them both. I have seen Metallica, but not Nirvana. I am particularly enamored with Nickelback and 3 Doors Down (have seen both more than once). I love Alice in Chains. As far as old school goes, I love Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, The Beatles and Queen.

    I just love MUSIC.

Gotta be the Beatles.  I like the Bangles too.  Hey - related topic, worst concerts ever attended.

    1.  Led Zeppelin at Madison Square Garden, sitting in the nosebleed seats, with my date, and Robert Plante takes off his shirt and starts acting sexual, and my date is staring at him, and I'm thinking hey, the hell with him.  I took you here to stare at him?

    2.  Jefferson Airplane during their Bathing At Baxter's period.  What a bunch of chaotic crap that was.  I just saw it listed as one of the great rock albums of that year, and I thought huh, if enough time passes everything horrible gets praised?  Such a great band too, with Comin' Back To Me, My Best Friend, Today, Get Together, Lather, Triad, and so many other fantastic songs.
