People have been using marijuana before the birth of Christ. Herodotus, in the fifth century B.C. wrote about people coming together and throwing the fruit (marijuana) on a fire. After inhaling the smoke, they began to sing and dance.
It was common by the thirteenth century to use hemp for clothes and other goods.
Marijuana was criminalized in 1937 in the U.S. and Canada in 1923. The public was told that marijuana cause sexual promiscuity, insanity and other problems.
While these claim were false, marijuana did seem to impede people's jobs.
People still used the illegal weed routinely from the fifities to present day.
Numerous demonstrations have taken place over the years.
But to no avail. What we are left with is a whole bunch of happy, high people and some really cool marijuana songs.
