I'm off to sunny Spain in a few weeks time for a well-earned holiday. Contrary to what my wife usually do we've booked ourselves a beach holiday. Our plan is to really wind down, catch up on some reading and force ourselves to relax.
I'm hoping to go swimming a lot but I suppose the weather gods need to be on our side for that to come off. Apparently, there are three small coves with sandy beaches near the hotel to that sounds good to me. With my Celtic/Anglo-Saxon skin I will need to take care in the sun or else I'll start resembling the Scarlet Pimpernel Tomato in no time!
Luckily the good old Pound still buys a few Euros so we'll be enjoying the odd drink here and there, and not skimping on meals out. I likes my Spanish food, after all. Can't wait to have some chocolate and churros; that to me just spells Spain when it comes to food heaven.
It has been a while since I was last on the Iberian peninsula. I can't wait to get back to that wonderful place. Sun, sea und sangria; here we come!
