Well, the Harpster, even though trying to keep Canadians in the dark by using the tricks of the "assholes of evil"  (Bush, Condoleezza Rice and Rumsfeld), got caught. By two priemers from two of the smallest "have not" provinces in Canada. Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, two of the poorest provinces in Canada, have struck oil. The former prime minister of Canada signed a deal with these provinces protecting them from federal clawbacks on the oil and gas revenues.

 

First, Harper, mistakenly thinking that Maritimers are a bunch of uneducated drunks, tried convincing the premiers that  he was offering a better deal. But even an  uneducated drunk knows that  having profits capped is not a better deal than receiving all of their profits. Then Harper tried  his typical bullying tactics. "For him to say childishly, 'Sue me or I'll sue you,' that's not the way that the leader of a nation should act."  (http://www.cbc.ca/canada/nova-scotia/story/2007/06/12/macdonald-budget.html).  But Harper has had his head stuck up Bush's arse so long, the lack of oxygen made him forget that Canadians cannot be bullied.

Bill Casey, Nova Scotia's conservative MP voted against Harper's bs budget and Harper threw this man, who was protecting the interests of the people he represents, out of the Conservative caucus.  But any man who wanted to send Canadians to the war in Iraq just to settle the beef and soft wood lumber exports to the U.S.  has no idea how to represent Candians.  Now that the Liberal and NDP leaders are also criticizing Harper perhaps he won't be representing his wealthy cronies and Bush, er I mean the Canadian people much longer.
