  I do think laughing at other"s people"s culture

  I think a lot of people who see a post in a language they don't know, they get paranoid about what it says. I've noticed it when a friend of mine overhears two people walking by, talking in what's usually Spanish, and he/she tends to get curious about who's saying what. To put it concisely, people just hate not knowing.
  
  Just so you know, QP, I find Tagalog, amongst many other languages, very fascinating.

  I absoulutly love to hear foriegn languages spoken. Reading it on the other hand gives me a headache. I have always thought that someone who could speak a different language was cool as hell. I have always wanted to speak another one myself.

  It is something in the way that people from other countries converse with each other in their native tounge is always a mystery and that is the lure for me. It is so different from what I am used to. I tell ya if I had the intelligence to learn I would speak them all!!! Keep your chin up Queenie, we love ya and don't let people stop you from speaking your beautiful language!!

I was speaking to my daughter in law Adda, then a woman opposite us asked what language we were talking. We told her. She said she loved to hear other languages and on the trains in Berlin she did all the time. How many languages do you speak Queen? . Queen WE all love you.

  I remember that some people were commenting in other languages (speaking in tongues ?) and I responded (without understanding their comments) in Spanish asking them if they were speaking Filipino or German and the host of the blog asked that we stick to English but haven't seen anybody make fun of other people speaking in their language.

  I have seen many people comment on others using a foreign language while on SC. The answer to that is if you are going to speak Tagalog, tell the people that you are taking a break from English and want to talk native tongue.

  It is offensive to be in a crowd and switch to a different language. The others feel left out and paranoid. That's the truth, believe it or not.

  there are thousands of spanish loan words and phrases in tagalog, some of them too embedded and modified thru several centuries of native usage for their spanish roots to be readily identifiable as spanish. for example, in this sentence, the syntax is tagalog but more than half of the words are of spanish origin:
  
  "musta ka na pare? sa tono mo, tila puro dasal at rosaryo na lang ang kinakarir mo oras-oras a. gusto mo, pasyal tayo sa tupada sa linggo?"
