The page you were looking for no longer exists

I'm still searching for a job that pays more than my current one. I had today off due to a scheduled vacation. A recruiter from an agency called me to schedule an interview for tomorrow--one-day's notice--with a previous employer.  She asked me whether I must give my current employer two-week's notice. When I replied that I prefer to she said the client has orientation starting next week and that she would keep my resume on file. I then told her that my HR department has told me that two-week's notice is not necessary (the truth), and obtain further details about the company. They pay the temps more ($11.50 an hour)than the permanent employees ($10.00 an hour) "because the benefits are so good." At $10.00 an hour you probably can't afford the benefits without a second income source. Taxes will net that salary and the benefits will net it even further. I was among those the company laid off due to corporate restructuring a few years ago. It was a crappy, inefficient company with little regard for the employees--like so many call centers. I declined the invitation. I see no reason to replace my current lousy-ass call center job for a pay cut and more of the same call center bullshit, of being overstressed and underpaid.

I know what you mean my daughter worked at one but lost the job when she didn't make her quota. I was delighted when this happened, because she was so stressed out all the time. She is working as a cook right now and waiting for the next paramedic course to start. Perhaps you might look into a career change too.
    good luck

Yes, Ma'am. Of course I'll do what I must, but I'm focusing on the job I want, not the job I have. I think you get what you want when you're ready to receive it. You just have to keep your eye on the prize, so to speak.
