Am I A Zombie?

I must be.  A recent heated blog post floating around Soul Cast named me as one of the blogging dead.

Apparently this fellow blogger judged that because I have a popular blog, the obvious conclusion is that I have nothing intelligent or purposeful to say. To paraphrase,  I basically write drivel because I write about my life.

Hmmm.

I have stewed on this and the more I think about it, I not only find it personally insulting but more importantly it's a big poke in the eye to my readers. 

You.

That is what burns me about it.

My blog comes from my heart.  I don't write to provoke.  I write for myself and to hopefully strike a common chord with you.

You who read my blog make it what it is.  I am grateful to each and every one of you.

Unless I'm mistaken, I still have a pulse.

I'll get off my zombie  soapbox by leaving you with a little humor about the whole mess here.

    Gimme your wrist, CDub. Yep, still feel a pulse. I read that too. Apparently if you don't blog about stuff that gets people all riled up or stuff that doesn't start a flamewar then you are a zombie. I don't purposely start trouble in my face-to-face life. Why should I do it here?

    The real shame is, this kind of garbage causes the good ones to drift away, and all you're left with are the shit-stirrers and morons.

    I feel the same way as you do.  I don't start trouble in real life.  I'm not about to do it here either.  I'm not going to be bullied into writing differently.

    CW....I've never understood why people need to judge and complain about other peoples posts....."Uncensored Blogging" if I recall seems to be the tagline for this site.  I take that to mean, write whatever the hell you want!!!!  And that also means, read whatever the hell you want!!  If you don't like it don't read it.  Why waste energy bringing people down?  I feel sorry for these people living thier lives in negativity and getting thier only joy in life from bringing others down.

    I just had to laugh at Dead Blogger's Society, it made me think of the dead poet's society. I think I glimpsed at that post that you speak of and didn't think much of it. I never realized people would even find it offensive because it was so juvenile. I am glad you're here zombie CW!

    Hi CW - as one of your readers, I am glad to hear that rumors of your death had been greatly exaggerated.  Reading blogs and commenting isn't mandatory.  Last time I checked, it is an exercise in free will.  Much as in real life, I tend not to comment on meaness here at SoulCast.  I am a firm believer in letting people dig their own holes, especially when they seem so intent on bringing others down with them ... best to stick to higher ground.

    Cops- has no qualms about saying something derogatory about any tragedy.  Remember how he treated MissU when her step daughter died.  The guy is  a loser.  Plain and simple.  He has no conscience, and he seems to come up with a new disease all the time.  He wonders why so many people hate him. Not only that but the lies he tells is really something to marvel at.   If he was to die tomorrow, no one would miss him. It is unfortunate that he creates hate where ever he goes.

    My personal opinion why cops keeps circling about and we have these flair ups from time to time is because we do exactly that...ignore him.  New people come along...nice unsuspecting people...he befriends them and before you know it we're back into the fire after he turns on them.

    I wonder if it's not better to get the word out about he truly is.  I don't see where ignoring him has worked.

    My initial reaction was to remain quiet about the whole thing.  But, the more I thought about it, the angrier I got.  So, this time right or wrong I decided to speak out.  He could have said he hated me and didn't like what I wrote, but to ask why would I even want to live?  Come on.  I think that's over the line.  Maybe the others mentioned in the post who remained quiet have stronger character than me.  I don't know.  I am just me.

    It is true that I am thankful for my readers.  That's why I did this post in the first place.  I felt his post insulted me as well as my readers. Their outpouring of support is humbling.

    The one who grabs him first is normally the one that gets bitten first!!! It is a very sweet and deep bite, does not hurt at all!!!

    The Cobra is a very powerfull and energetic snake and will normally bite deep into all four, giving all lots of pleasure!!!

    agreed trapbutterfly! I think wise people learn from whats around them and so there are two ways of talking about your life -

     

    1.) ignorant person - eg "today I saw two kittens playing, it was cute"

    2.) thoughtful - eg "I saw two kittens playing today, and it reminded me of my own carefree upbrining"

     

    I think the first way of blogging is the kind of way ignorant people blog about their lives on Myspace and stuff, be we're on soulcast to blog annonymously (for whatever reason) which I think means we are, through choice of blogging method, NOT a zombie.

    I think here most people are here to enrich their lives by talking about every aspect - loss and gain, good and evil, love and hate, life and flamewar starting topics. But if you revel in the controversy of having a massive argument with 100 or so people with comments after coming out with a deliberately contraversial opinion, then really, arn't you just a confrontationalist zombie youself? *and exhale*

    I try not to be confrontational.  I suppose I fail at that sometimes.  I wrote this particular post when I was angry/hurt about what someone else wrote about me.  I should have let it go, but I didn't.  It's a lesson learned.

    I used to have saved a link to someone's blog where they talked about how the reader has no rights to choose - or demand - the writer of said blog to write about something specific.  If I can find it I will post it here :)  But just keep in mind that there is only 1 person you have to please when writing: you.  (And usually there are tons of people who read you, they just don't comment.)
