Why are Jews open game? On TV it seems to be acceptable to bash Jews, as long as it is part of the script. South Park, Will & Grace and numerous other shows, slander Jews left and right, but if Don Imus says, "nappy headed hoes" he gets fired. South Park bleeps the word Nigger but throws Jewish, this that and the other around like there is no problem. Are they talking about Jews? Yes! Are Jews called Jews? Again yes, they are. You know what I mean though. It is the tone. It is meant in a way that is derogatory and it is offensive. Why it seems to be tolerated is beyond me. I think the Jewish community needs to speak up and say something. Smell Gibson cracked off that "the Jews run Hollywood." I tend to believe that they have a great deal of power there and so does my Girlfriend who happens to be Jewish herself. If so they should do something to make it just as wrong to use the word Jew in a derogatory fashion as saying nigger. Just a thought.

Painful, I have the highest regard for Jewish people. I also know very dear Jewish people. I dont agree with Jew bashing. That is the way of the world, how "hollywood" subtly indocrinates people on what is acceptable. Its not all that harmful, and its funny. . .eventually it numbs the senses. Like the way the like to make fathers look like total duffuses and goof-balls, which in my estimation is the total opposite of what dads are supposed to be, but that's just me. -

Polar… I agree with you. The husband bashing and glorification of the dysfunctional family also pisses me off. That and the term "whatever" being used and pushed constantly. I think the fad (hopefully) of using one word or two words has changed people into self-gratifying, callused asses. To me the response of "what ever" means "no thanks. I’m content to remain in my own ignorance." The person using it scorns correction, opinions, right from wrong and the feeling of others.

You can set filters on email to screen the 'n' word because it is truely an offensive word, no matter what justification someone might make. The fact that some ignorant people use "Jew" with contempt is no reason to filter it.
