Is dog meat a delicacy in your place?

In my country dog meat is a delicacy in some areas.

I am Yoruba by tribe(from southern Nigeria) and in my home town and some other parts of the State I am from Ondo, dog is a delicacy. Not all yoruba’s are dog eaters. Only a minority and you’ll find out why

Before the British came and colonized us , my people were worshippers of the so called god of iron, Ogun.

Apparently this deity demanded sacrifices of dogs from his subjects hence the slaughtering of dogs to whet his appetite.

Most of my people are now Christians but there are still a minority that stillo worship this so called god. So meat eating is still a delicacy.

Also many Christians are anyway in reality norminal Christians and find nothing wrong in eating.

I find the thought of putting Hamlet into my mouth disgusting…what about you.

There are other tribes in Nigeria that eat it too. You have the Ibibio and Efik,. To them, its probably tastier than chicken. You also have some Igbo sub-groups that enjoy a taste of dog meat once in a while.
