My apologies if this has been done before, but on another post of mine, Polarheart and hotaka made the comments that my life seemed like a movie. And they both had great suggestions on who they felt should play me. So it got me thinking, if YOUR life was a movie, who would play you?

Sure, it's easy for me to say, "well, Johnny Depp should play me..." But he's nothing like me. So don't give out dream answers. What actor either resembles you physically or in personality?

My pick for me is Josh Radnor. He's on the TV show How I Met Your Mother, and all my friends tell me his character, Ted, is pretty much me only with darker hair and probably taller.

Here is the link to his IMDB page: Josh Radnor

We don't really look similar, but I'm going off personality and mannerisms here.

And also, I'd liken myself to an early Matthew Perry from Friends. Chandler and I have a very similar sense of humor and self deprecating nature. But again, the looks aren't the same really.

Now it's your turn!

Interesting topic... I would have to say Julia Roberts would have to play me as she did in Erin Brocovich. I swear I am related to Erin  cause my opinoins and outburst protrayed in that movie IS me! I'm very out spoken...I say it like it is.

Sandra Bullock.. I am goofy, clumsy, and I laugh in the most serious moments, to add that comic relief like she does. I can be serious and when someone's not taking me seriously, I stomp my feet like she does. Hehe.. my mom has told me many times I am exactly like all the characters she portrays. Haha.. I just don't look anything like her!!

Looks?? A fair, younger Goldie Hawn!! Here ya go.. http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/I/51zg5f+gfKL._AA240_.jpg

i've been described as having similar mannerisms to anthony daniels, who plays C3-PO.

Froggie--Erin Brockovich, huh? That was a good movie! And being a strong, outspoken woman is a good thing.

lynblair--I like Sandra Bullock. She's cute and funny in a really down to earth way. And I can see the Goldie Hawn thing. I think it's the hair.

silverwhisper--C3-PO?? I'm laughing over that one. Now I'm going to be envisioning you as a gold robot that speaks with a very proper accent. That's great.
  • uniquely-ironic said on May 30, 2007....
I've been told I look like Katey Sagal who plays Peggy Bundy.

I think I behave more like Andie McDowell or the Monica character in Friends.  A little obsessive, but good hearted.
  • silverwhisper said on May 30, 2007....
    evil_twin: good: i'm largely harmless. :>

u-i, i frequent a discussion forum. one of the members who i had the privilege to meet 2 years ago actually resembles andie mcdowell. :>

  • lioneljay said on May 30, 2007....
Fortunately, I'm not the forum member that SW met who resembles Andie McDowell (at least I hope not that's what he remembers from the time we met for coffee and tea).

I most closely resemble Michael Caine (think Miss Congeniality, not Alfie) but recently someone told me that I share several mannerisms with the late Johnny Carson.
  • beyondtheveil said on May 30, 2007....
evil- I've been associated with Jack Palance & Clint Eastwood, not for their heroic ways & conquering style, but for certain looks & mannerisms.

  • MissMimi said on May 30, 2007....

LJ I think you look a bit like Steve Martin. Can you play the banjo?

I don't know who would play me.  They just don't make 'em like me in Hollywood.

  • evil_twin said on May 30, 2007....
uniquely-ironic--You don't look like Peg Bundy! I saw a pic of you when I first came here (I think it was you...maybe I'm thinking of someone else...) Anyway, your Monica persona fits well with my Chandler, right? Are you obsessive about coasters and stuff?

lioneljay--Michael Caine mixed with Johnny Carson, eh? I'm now seeing you as very sophisticated, yet incredibly funny. When I was a little kid, I thought Johnny Carson was great. I was only allowed to stay up late to watch his show on special occasions. My mom loved him.

beyondtheveil--Jack Palance and Clint Eastwood are some awesome tough guys. I love Dirty Harry. Unfortunately, I'm not cool enough to pull off a Clint Eastwood impression, but I do enjoy saying, "go ahead...make my day."

MissMimi--There must be someone good enough to have the honor of playing you in a movie! Meryl Streep, maybe? She can play anyone...

  • lioneljay said on May 30, 2007....
Mimi, I do not play the banjo and I've done a lot of creative work with my hair to disguise the arrow. How did you know about that? BTW, Mimi, I see Minnie Driver playing you - and don't you even think of protesting. ;)
  • uniquely-ironic said on May 30, 2007....
Not so much the coaster, though it has been known to happen, but sprinkle a few crumbs on the table and I'll mow you over to get them brushed up!  Sick.  Really sick, but that's the nature of OCD.

Hi evil t...this is a fun question, but I just couldn't think of anyone so I asked a good friend at work and right away she said Selma Blair, when she played in the movie Sweetest Thing. Now I haven't seen it , so i'll take her word for it, but she said she plays a quiet, shy girl that gets embarrassed easily especially when talking about things like sex....oh yea that's me!! lol

When i'm on-line I can talk about anything and everything and it won't bother me...but in person,  i'm just like Selma is in the movie!

    alls:)
  • evil_twin said on May 30, 2007....
uniquely-ironic--You'd probably kill me within seconds of entering my apartment. I'm not a slob, but I'm not neat either. I like to think of crumbs on the coffee table as 'cat treats'...

allswell--The Sweetest Thing was a hilarious movie. You should rent it. And yeah, Selma's character was the quiet, shy one of the group, but in the end she's the one who got caught doing some really naughty stuff. I'll make you blush if I tell you, so you'll just have to see the movie!
  • allswell said on May 30, 2007....
Oh wow....so I turn out to be the naughty girl...hummm that sounds fun!! ha ha...I'll make sure i watch the movie.....
    alls:)

People always tell me I look exactly like Ricki Lake. I am not sure that is such a compliment. But I did love her in "Hairspray" and "Mrs. Winterbourne", so...
  • bamboogirl said on May 30, 2007....

I guess Kiera Knightley. Or Winona Ryder. Or Uma Thurman. Some friends say I am a mixture of the three. With a more athletic body build and a dirty mind. I don't believe them. I think I am just an ordinary-looking girl with a bad attitude. Maybe I will just play myself. Ooops, should be "play with myself..." Another ooops, should have been "play by myself..." Oh, whatever....

  • minniemouse said on May 30, 2007....
Well, I've been told many times that I resemble Kim Bassinger and I can kind of see that.  As far as playing me, I don't know....I kind of have a dry, sarcastice kind of sense of humor and the only person who comes to mind is Wanda Sykes, but not quite so annoying!  I know when enough is enough!!  I'll keep thinking on this one!!  :-)  MM
  • Glamourgirl said on May 30, 2007....

In the looks department, face and body, people always tell me I look astonishing like a young Elizabeth Taylor, but character wise I would definitely be Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind.  I am very strong minded and determined and God forbid someone tell me I can't do something because I will do it, but like Scarlett sometimes I just "will have to think about that tomorrow" - especially these days!

Since Liz is too old to act anymore and Vivian Lee has been dead for years, I'm not quite sure whose gonna play my part these days!  I'm up for suggestions.

  • mom said on May 30, 2007....
who I would love to see play me, would be Angelina Jolie.  But in reality I am more like Phyllis Diller in looks and mannerisms.  *sigh*
  • MissMimi said on May 30, 2007....
Do you call your husband Fang? I used to love Phyllis Diller.
  • mom said on May 30, 2007....
Mimi- I never call my husband unless I need him to fetch something.
  • MissMimi said on May 30, 2007....

    I hear ya, baby!

Hmmm.  Minnie Driver, or Meryl Streep.  I'm flattered and flustered.  I was going to say Rosie ODonnell, but I like the other ladies better.

  • Bluesnake said on May 30, 2007....
    Who would play me.....?

Definitely the young Michael J Fox (during the Teenwolf and Back to the Future era)!

The hair, stature, and teenage boyish looks.........well......definitely Michael J Fox!

Characterwise, I would say Michael Weatherly should play me as he plays Agent Tony Dinozzo in NCIS.....portraying a typical teenage behaviour though he's much older. Just like me....haha
  • gingersoul said on May 30, 2007....

If Tori Amos would be an actress she would have to play me...... everybody keeps telling me by years how much we look alike...... but a woman kept staring me at the cashier line last year and then told me she was sure i was Minnie Driver ...only i was blonde and with a lot less jaw line......:-)

My ex husband, boyfriends and my daughter too had fallen for the pixs of Tori i showed them claiming it was me.....:-)....

But as personality/character.....i would say Kate Winslet......she is upfront, non conventional, grounded yet whimsical and romantic...but not the Titanic one....lol....

Donald Sutherland. Or, barring that, Kiefer Sutherland.

But Donald would be closest to me in looks.

  • SportsMom said on May 31, 2007....
Mine would have to be Meg Ryan......more of the "When Harry Met Sally" Meg -- not the AA Meg!  Im told ALL the time I look like her.
  • Holly-Go-Lightly said on May 31, 2007....

I think character-wise, it would have to be Renee Zellweger, I am too much like her "Barbara Novak" character in "Down With Love", also her Bridget Jones character in  "Bridget Jones' Diary" 1 & 2!!! She can be smart, sassy, fun, emotional, reflective, and a little off-beat at times.

Lookswise, I can only think of one person, since I have been called by her name by so many people...let's just forget for the moment that she's not alive anymore OK?  Marilyn Monroe.

  • monkeypants said on May 31, 2007....
imelda staunton. she's a lot older than me, but we have v.v. similar facial features. she's in vera drake and soon the new harry potter, but she's relatively unknown
  • gingersoul said on May 31, 2007....

Monkey.......i know Imelda Staunton...i loved her in Vera Drake.....that is a powerful movie and she is a great actress.....i can easily see her in Harry Potter.....:-)

  • evil_twin said on May 31, 2007....
Wow, great response from everyone here! Thanks for playing along. It's kind of fun to get images of everyone in my mind, even if they're of actors and actresses! But whenever I read a  book, I usually picture actors in my head that I think would fit the part. So reading blogs is kind of like that too. So thanks everyone for commenting and helping to cast the Soulcast book in my head.

  • msanonyms said on Jun 01, 2007....
Oh my god, evil_twin...I do that too! The minute I start reading a book, I immediately associate each character with an actor/actress. It makes it easier to read the book if I can "see" the characters in my head. Wow! I wondered if I was the only person that does that! That's awesome! I am glad someone else does that too.
  • evil_twin said on Jun 01, 2007....
msanonyms, that's too funny! I've always done that too and assumed it was just me. Have you ever read a book, gotten actors in your head, and then they make an actual movie, and you're upset that they didn't have the same vision you did? It kind of messes up the story for me if they cast people I wouldn't have chosen myself. I usually prefer my ideas better!
