  I have to back up what gingersoul said.  I've known several kids and adults who were stung and all had happy endings.  I will keep your Thor in my thoughts until his happy ending is realized.

  Thank yo guys. He is still at the hospital and has got an injection aginst hepatitis c. He will have anohter in a month and then another later. They are still running tests and talking to the mother. They have to find the police men who came to the spot. Someone phoned and they have to research on the stuff the police has now taken with them.
  Freyja will sleap here. She has an exam tomorrow.

  Thank you all agan.they are still at the hospital. They were waiting for some medication. The staff did no know who big the dose should be. I think they were coming to give it to him now when I phoned. then they can finally go home. It is so unusual here that this happens that they did not know how big the dose was to be. Adda and Þór have not had anythinig to  eat and it is almost 11pm. they are both very tired. Freyja is asleep here and she said I wish it had be me instead of him. we told her we do not whish so and that this is an accident and we wish that he had not had it.
  Adda just phoned as I am writing, finallu after 4 hours they got out of the hospital thy waited one and a half hour to get in still they were put for others. then the nurse was on the net for hours looking for this dose saying it was so unusul this.Talking about that her shift was over.
  
  the girl who oned this stuff was found and will be researched for illnesses.

  Skald I would like to add my concern and well wishes to those already hear. If these junkies must have their drugs,I wish they would be more careful about their needles and not leave them around for little kids to find.Or any body else for that matter.

  I've never had any experience with this but from what others are saying. Also from the only experience I've heard of. Thor should be okay (hopefully). It will take sometime to know for sure though. I hope that everything works out for your family and you.

  I am sure the original message got mistranslated when you wrote

  Or Stung by a bee. Sorry . I am not being picky but I noticed some are not understanding that "stuck" by a needle..a used needle can carry all sorts of implications such as aids, etc. Your concerns are legitimate and it may take months to find out if there is any real damage.

  Having said all that..less than 2 % of people accidentally stuck by a needle are prone to get a disease from the needle.

  I was the Dir. of Planned Giving for the AZ Easter Seal Society many years back.  My main office was in downtown Phoenix.  People 'shot up' all over behind our building, in the alley and across the alley/street...I found needles all the time.  The first time I carried a baggie inside; I had never been that close to this kind of thing.  They told me never to touch them again. 
   
  The police asked that we call them, tell them where they were, but that we were never supposed to touch them again...I touched it to throw it away because there were also poor children that walked around down there, with their skate boards, bikes and walking.  I didn't want them to find/touch them.  I called the police regularly after that...became sort of a pest, I am sure ; ) 
   
  I bet your grand children will never touch them again.  I hope, trust and pray that they will be fine...no problems.  Keep your faith strong and let us know how they are.  I pray and believe with you, that they are fine and well...unaffected, except that they will be much more careful and less curious now!

  I am sorry, I dont get the entire picture. Do you mean the needles I mean used needles lay scattered all over so that unvary children can pick them up out of curiosity? This is dangerous. That is irresponsible to throw away the needle after use. Who does it? The person who used it, or the hospital authorities? Or they dump it in the trash and the children go and pick them up while playing. Needles used can carry anything from hepatitis to HIV or STD. Children who play in the fields may out of curiosity pick them up. Dangerous situation.
