Well, tomorrow it's back to the job I hate. I know I should be positive about this. It's true that any job beats unemployment. I've endured nine months of either no job or temporary work while seeking permanent work. It's no fun. Still, I'd prefer not to have to choose among unemployment, underemployment or an otherwise lousy job. I'm still searching for something else, a job I love. I think what makes work life miserable for so many people is poor leadership. I've seen that on many of the jobs I've held.
I think that many managers and executives have their heads firmly planted in their rears. I imagine that in many boardrooms they're surrounded by kiss ups who embrace or don't question anything they propose no matter how stupid it is. That's why you get so many bad company policies and procedures.
Maybe many people in boardrooms don't question the boss's or their bosses' bad ideas or decisions for fear of losing their jobs. Hey, they need paychecks too. Maybe too, if a company's leadership makes bad decisions and runs the company as if it were a microsize dictatorship it's time to consider changing jobs.
