In response to another Soul Cast blog posting, since I am member of this fine community, I am going to give another viewpoint about gun control.
It was dark outside, and the crickets chirped loud. The log cabin had just been finished and we could finally relax inside next to the fire.
All of the sudden a bear smashed through the door and ate my father and mother and left me alone to be raised by wolves. Maybe if we hadn't traded our shotgun for food.
That is why people need guns; to protect them from things like bears. I don't remember the last time I saw a bear, and I have never needed a gun.
Guns are used to kill people, and for some reason I feel like we have enough of this already. I say ban all guns of any type, just so the we can feel a little more safe at night. There will still be guns on the streets, but if it is illegal to have them people might think twice before whipping them out.
If you need a gun to "protect" you family, maybe you should be nicer to people and stop attracting the sort that would hurt you and your family.
I mean, I try to be as polite as possible, and I feel safe leaving the front door unlocked. (don't ask where I live)
I say the less guns the better. People don't have the respect for human life to used them correctly, and I think as a society we have advanced beyond the need for such a violent tool.
