Hi Diz and pleased to get acquainted with you. Which mountain did you climb and was it a scramble up or ropes and pitons? I had altitude sickness twice: once on Mt. Fuji and once in Peru in the Cordillera Blanca. I felt like such a wimp compared to others (Peruvians basically) who walked up at 4,600 metres like I do at near sea level. I had to give up because I was alone and not doing well. So one of my ambitions is to visit a high altitude place and get over the headaches, queezy stomach and sleeplessness.
I would like to see a novel of mine published but it's on the backburner again. I would also like to see a couple of books of my photographs published. I self published two books a couple of years ago but that took a lot of money. And I did my own editing so the writing is a bit dodgy. An exhibition in a prestigious gallery in Tokyo is possible but though the gallery is free once you've passed the selection process, the printing and framing of 50 to 60 photos is expensive.
Certainly I have a list of places I want to visit and photograph. I made a list of 50 countries and states or provinces a couple of months ago. Yeah, I still have a lot to do before checking out.
Cool you played in a band. I think if I had not focused my efforts on photography I would have been a guitarist and composer. I still pick up the old sing string from time to time but I don't spend the time coming up with songs anymore.
Dic, You're back, or are you gone again now, damn, can't believe I missed your return. Great to see your blogging again, have missed your mr. perfect wit.
As for my dreams and ambitions, I only have three big things left I want to achieve in my life: Publish a novel, climb Kilomanjaro, and fly a helicopter. Except for these three things my life is wonderfull and I'm happy with everything I've achieved in my life as far.
Nice post and have a nice day. <*ms
